A new behind-the-scenes video from The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes reveals the prequel movie's Capitol sets and the first look at Peter Dinklage. Lionsgate found a rare win with adapting young adult novels into franchises with The Hunger Games during the 2010s. The four movies starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen were critical and financial hits, which is why there were always talks about how it could continue after The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. Thanks to author Suzanne Collins writing another book, Lionsgate moved forward with a Hunger Games prequel movie, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

After audiences experienced the events around the 74th and 75th Hunger Games, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes goes back to the 10th Hunger Games and focuses on a young Coriolanus Snow. The Hunger Games prequel movie cast Tom Blyth as the young Snow, while Rachel Zegler was later cast in the female lead role of Lucy Gray Baird. Their paths intersect when Snow becomes a mentor for the District 12 female tribute. Lionsgate already shared an early look at the Hunger Games prequel that teased the romantic relationship between them.

As filming continues on The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the new video featured above includes a behind-the-scenes look at the Hunger Games prequel. Rachel Zegler hosts the video that comes from TikTok's official account. It includes the star actress exploring the Capitol set of the movie. Tom Blyth's Coriolanus Snow is featured throughout the video, and there are also a few quick glimpses of Peter Dinklage as dean Casca Highbottom.

Everything Shown In The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes BTS Video

Lucy, played by Rachel Zegler, has her had on Snow's lap, played by Tom Blyth in The Hunger Games Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

The Capitol set featured in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' BTS video looks to be part of the Academy, a high-profile Capitol school where students are able to help influence the Hunger Games. Coriolanus Snow is a student at the Academy during the Hunger Games prequel, and the red uniform worn by Blyth and other actors looks to be their school uniform. The main room featured in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' video looks to be a classroom or lecture hall. The footage also shows Snow's classmate and friend Sejanus Plinth (Joshua Rivera).

Another takeaway from The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' BTS video is Snow's different look compared to the movie's first look image. Tom Blyth has the long bleach-blonde hair that Snow is known to have at this time throughout the footage, but the original photo features him with a shaved head. This is because the new video features Snow during his time at the Academy and presumably earlier on in the movie, whereas the image is from later on in the Hunger Games prequel movie's story. Those who have not read the book and are not aware of what happens to Snow and Lucy Gray will learn the answers when The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is released in theaters in November 2023.
