Lionsgate has spent the last three weeks slowly but meticulously releasing updates about the casting process for its highly-anticipated adaptation of Suzanne Collins' mega-popular novel, The Hunger Games. Now the last two "tribute" roles in the film have been filled, leaving just a handful of (still important) adult supporting parts open for casting.

District 2 "tributes" Cato and Clove - who essentially serve as antagonists in The Hunger Games - are the last tribute roles to be filled in the film. The characters will be brought to life by Alexander Ludwig (Race to Witch Mountain) and Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), respectively.

Ludwig isn't so much a physical match for Cato, who is described by Collins as a hulking brute with an nasty temper and (admittedly, kind of understandable) unrelenting drive to win The Hunger Games. Fuhrman, on the other hand, seems a nice match to play the cruel and deadly Clove - based on her sinister turn as the mysterious Esther in Orphan, that is.

Here (at last) is the complete roster of District "tribute" roles and the actors/actresses who will be filling them in The Hunger Games:

The Hunger Games adaptation looks pretty promising on paper - between the solid casting choices for the main characters, the involvement of decorated Hollywood veterans like Stanley Tucci and Woody Harrelson in supporting roles, and multiple Oscar-nominee Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) serving as director. Once the casting process is completely finished, we can at last begin anticipating the actual start of production (and all the promotional materials that inevitably find their way online).

The Hunger Games arrives in theaters on March 23rd, 2012.
