Amid the premiere of The Kardashians on Hulu, fans are finally seeing a side of Kanye West that is helping to restore his public image. The rapper returned to a life of seclusion following his social media tirade against Kim Kardashian's boyfriend Pete Davidson. Fans were defending Kim against Kanye's problematic response to their divorce. Kanye has been silent following his latest social media attack against Kim and Pete. His posts got him banned from Instagram for a day and barred from attending this year's Grammy awards.
At the time of the erratic posts, many criticized Kanye while defending Kim from his enraged response to her dating someone new. Fans credited Kim with taking her time before finally dating someone else after filing for divorce in February 2021. But with The Kardashians picking up at a time when Kim and Kanye were on good terms, fans are starting to see why Kanye was so upset about Kim moving on with Pete.
But now the new show is revealing how well Kim and Kanye were getting along around the time she started dating Pete and some spectators are starting to sympathize with the rapper. The new show might actually help to repair Kanye's image considering his silence and the new content that fans are judging. One recent episode revealed the great lengths Kanye went through to get the last remaining footage of Kim's infamous sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J. Kanye presented Kim with the footage ahead of her Saturday Night Live hosting debut. Kim was brought to tears at Kanye's good deed. However, later that night, she would plant a kiss on Pete in front of Kanye prior to everyone learning of their budding romance. Kanye Media shared the clip on Twitter showing how appreciative the KarJenners were of Kanye's warm gesture.
Fans were quick to point out the irony of Kim and Pete's subtle romantic debut that came when Kanye was seemingly working to win his wife back. "Just so she could clown him on tv in front of millions," @AfcLicks commented on the Tweet. Commenter @killakaylani pointed out how Kim said "Kanye did this for MY kids… she should’ve said OUR kids." Others applauded Kanye for changing his tune and choosing to reframe from bashing Pete after all of his initial antics. Kanye spent weeks giving Kim and Pete extra attention on social media due to his frustration over their relationship. Things came to a head when Pete contacted Kanye to defend Kim.
When Kanye asked Pete for his location, Pete made a low blow by insinuating that he was "in bed with your wife." Now that the show is revealing how hard Kanye worked behind the scenes to win Kim back, some are starting to sympathize with him. The shift in dynamic could help Kanye when he chooses to make a return to the spotlight. Hulu's The Kardashians is giving critics new material to judge the famous family about.
