Diehard followers of The Kardashians loved the original series, Keeping Up With The Kardashiansbut would agree that the new Hulu series is a step up from the family's first installment on the E! Network. The Kardashian-Jenners have taken reality TV by storm since 2007, and their lives have changed drastically. When each season of KUWTK aired, fans noticed how the show continued to evolve over time.

The family dynamic was transformed as the reality stars got married, divorced, and welcomed kids into the picture. Now, the well-known celebrities are more famous than ever and elevated their image with The Kardashians Hulu series. While taking a brief hiatus from filming after KUWTK season 20, the Kardashian-Jenners thought long and hard about their reality TV return. The new show is finally underway and fans have a lot of mixed emotions about the Kardashian-Jenner family's latest venture.

Many fans are impressed with The Kardashians so far and feel that it's a fresh take on the clan's everyday lives. The production value of the show has improved, and every scene captures an in-depth look into each family member's journey. It is a great opportunity to peel back the curtain behind the viral headlines circling around the family.

The Family Pranks Are Gone

Viewers who watched KUWTK seemed to be bothered by the family pranks that appeared to be created for television. Fortunately, The Kardashians eliminated a lot of the obvious and unnecessary hijinks that didn't add anything to the show. Fans remember the infamous inside jokes that the sisters and Kourtney Kardashian's ex-boyfriend Scott Disick played on Kris Jenner, like the Todd Kraines phone call and Art Vandalay masterpieces. While everyone thought these scenes were hilarious, the clips were often a distraction from the more serious events that the Kardashian-Jenner family was dealing with at the time.

Confessionals Are Both Planned & Spontaneous

The new version of The Kardashians blurs the line between what is going on in a reality TV show, and the audience members who are watching. There are still confessionals with the family members that are planned, which is similar to KUWTK. However, the Kardashian-Jenners often speak to the camera directly in certain scenes in the show. During episode 1 of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian was watching her kids in the backyard. She turned to the camera and made a comment about how she cleaned the playroom earlier that day. Fans were able to see a realistic side to her, and it was more relatable than some parts of KUWTK.

The Series Flows Better With Shorter Commercials

Because The Kardashians have moved to Hulu, there are fewer commercials than KUWTK had on the E! Network. Instead of including two- or three-minute commercials, Hulu's advertisements run anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute and 45 seconds. Shorter ads allow for fewer interruptions between each scene, making The Kardashians flow a lot better. The series also has a smaller amount of longer scenes, rather than more segments that are cut short. For example, there were more extensive scenes with Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson talking, and Kim discussing the sex tape controversy with Kris and her sisters. The scenes felt like they lasted forever, but had more depth than previous KUWTK bits.
