The Hulk and Wolverine have a long, storied history together as the famous mutant originally debuted in The Incredible Hulk #181 back in 1974. In a more recent story, Wolverine actually was given the powers of the Hulk and the Jade Giant gained Wolverine's claws thanks to an experiment on the two heroes.

Most comic fans are familiar with the Weapon X program, the research facility responsible for experimenting on Sabretooth, Deadpool, and most famously Wolverine, who's bones were turned into adamantium as part of their tests to build a powerful living superweapon. However, one of the most recent test subjects from the Weapon X program is Weapon H. Weapon H was a former mercenary who ended up getting kidnapped and experimented on. Weapon H was an amalgamation of sorts of Marvel heroes, as his new form was created with Amadeus Cho's Hulk and Old Man Logan's DNA, along with his own bones being coated in adamantium. The Hulk-Wolverine Hybrid was made to be a weapon, but he eventually escaped the facility to be with his family.

In Hulkverine #3 by Greg Pak, Ario Anindito, Morry Hollowell, Andrew Crossley, Weapon H, Hulk, and Wolverine end up in an unlikely team-up, after the Leader brings the heroes all together (via infecting Weapon H with a gamma-altering virus) in an attempt to take them down. One of the Leader's Humanoids successfully captures Bruce Banner and Wolverine and teleports them to the Shadow Base facility, where the Leader runs a new experiment on the pair. Hulk and Wolverine are transformed into their own Hulk-Wolverine hybrids who have little control of their minds.

Hulk and Wolverine/Hulk

The Hulkverine's start to cause massive damage at the facility when unleashed to the wild, which forces Weapon H (and also the Avengers) to step in and try to stop his fellow Wolverine-Hulk hybrids. The Leader watches on with a maniacal smile on his face, but quickly finds out his arrogance in unleashing the superpowered heroes. Hulk and Wolverine are about to kill him and scientist Aliana Alba, but they quickly reverse the upgrades by releasing nanobots. Alba tries to use the same nanobots to take down Weapon H, but he tells them that he's mastered living with them. After the villain's teleport, the story ends with Weapon H being reunited with his family and Wolverine and Bruce going for a drink after the whole ordeal.

Wolverine and the Hulk's transformation was short-lived, but in just a few pages, they showed just how truly terrifying a Hulk-Wolverine hybrid truly can be. The Avengers were called in to deal with them and it's no guarantee they could stop him. It's no wonder Weapon H is such a wanted man - he's truly one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe.
