Warning: contains spoilers for Gamma Flight #5!

The Abomination has always been viewed as the ultimate villain for the Hulk, with the two boasting similar abilities from a similar source, yet being utter and complete enemies through and through. But while they are arch rivals, their physical similarities mean each has a lot to learn from the other, as Emil Blonsky just proved by ripping off Hulk's disgusting inhalation attack. The Abomination recently regained sentience after his multi-issue arc in the Immortal Hulk, where he was no more than a superpowered meat suit that offered the gamma-infused power of the Abomination to anyone who wore it. After combining with the last wearer and regaining the soul of Emil Blonsky, the Abomination was reborn and adopted his classic look, ready to impose his villainous cruelty on the Marvel Universe once again.

In Gamma Flight #5 written by Al Ewing and Crystal Frasier with art by Lan Medina and Antonio Fabela, the allies of the Hulk who make up the Gamma Flight squad go toe-to-toe with the Hulk’s greatest foe. Puck, Titania, Absorbing Man, Doc Sasquatch, Dr. Charlene McGowan and the merged Rick Jones/Delbert Fry creature have been working to save a small town from gamma infection, and the Abomination is revealed to be behind the project. During their assault on the villain, the Abomination uses the Hulk’s darkest attack against his heroic foes.

A new addition to the Gamma Flight team, Dionne Fortean, AKA Stockpile, is a gamma-mutate with the power to transform her body into a mud-like substance. Stockpile uses her abilities to try to smother the Abomination, filling his mouth with mud to choke him into submission. However, the Abomination has a disturbing technique up his sleeve that he seemingly learned from his nemesis the Hulk. The Abomination begins to inhale Stockpile, stating that even his lungs are stronger than the hero, then exhales her back onto Titania along with a dose of his own corrosive vomit.

Gamma Flight Abomination

The Hulk has shown off the attack of inhaling his enemies multiple times in the past, including most recently in the Immortal Hulk, doing so to incapacitate the villain Vapor. When powered up by cosmic rays, Joe Fixit regained the strength of the Hulk and took down the villainous team known as the U-Foes one-by-one. One of those villains, Vapor, whose superpower is turning herself into different toxic poisons to take down her enemies, attempted to use that ability to beat the Hulk. However, the Hulk proved too strong for the attack and inhaled Vapor, defeating her, and walking away unharmed. Hulk has even used his mighty lungs to ingest the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards, depriving him of air to score a victory in Contest of Champions II.

The Hulk’s usage of his darkest attack is relatively rare, since the hero tends to only use it on enemies who are so malleable they're unlikely to be badly hurt. Of course, the Abomination has no such qualms, inhaling and then weaponizing Stockpile to help defeat the superstrong Titania with an acidic edge only he possesses. A power like that in the hands of a villain as cruel as the Abomination is very dangerous and could now become a main attack in the villain’s arsenal from this point on. The Abomination just stole Hulk’s disgusting attack and used it to great effect, proving that while Bruce Banner may be able to match Emil Blonsky's strength, he's nowhere near as vicious.
