Hugh Jackman continues his pseudo-feud with Ryan Reynolds by posting an embarrassing throwback photo of the Canadian star as a teenager. The former Wolverine actor and the current Deadpool have been friends since they both appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine together, with Reynolds debuting as a very different version of the Merc With A Mouth. Ever since, the pair have carried out a public feud that pits them against each other, most notably with Reynolds consistently mocking Jackman in Deadpool and Deadpool 2 and Jackman complaining about it on Twitter.

These days, their "feud" takes place mostly on the social media platform, with the actors taking any opportunity they can to gently make fun of each other. They've also cross-promoted each other's drinks brands, with Reynolds owning a Gin company and Jackman a fair trade coffee brand, most recently seen when Reynolds narrated a commercial revealing that the "real" Jackman is a jerk. It's all in good fun, though, with the actors clearly getting on very well in real life and continuously teasing fans with a potential team-up in a future movie.

Now, Jackman has used Reynolds' 44th birthday on Thursday as another opportunity to poke fun at him by tweeting an embarrassing photo of Reynolds appearing on Canadian TV as a child, wearing a terrible yellow button-up shirt while playing the drums. He also uses the tweet to call Reynolds "li'l buddy," even though the two are similar in size and height. For his part, Reynolds replied to the tweet, only saying that the shirt was a "cry for help." You can see the exchange below:

The funny tweet isn't as mean as Jackman's original idea for Reynolds' birthday gift, which was meant to be a bag of flaming dog poo deposited at his front door. But who knows, perhaps Jackman did that privately. The intent behind the tweet was sweet, and Reynolds' quickfire response proves that the announcement of a Jackman-Reynolds movie team-up is perhaps the only thing that can save 2020 at this point. Their chemistry is incredibly natural and genuine, and fans would flock to see a film featuring them in the leads.

Jackman has hinted, in a typically jokey fashion, at the potential for another movie team-up in the past by saying that he'd be open to doing a Face/Off remake with Reynolds. Audiences would jump at that concept and would be even happier if Jackman would reprise the role of Wolverine in a potential third Deadpool movie. Regardless of when or where the actors need to take their bromance from social media to the big screen at some point soon.
