Hubie Halloween includes a tribute to the late Cameron Boyce but doesn't fully explain the late actor's connection to Happy Madison Productions. On July 6, 2019, Boyce passed away at age 20 from an epileptic seizure. Prior to his death, though, Boyce raised money for various non-profit organizations, including It's On Us, the Lucstrong Foundation, the Thirst Project, United Way of America, and Wielding Peace.

The 20-year-old used his status as an actor to help support those causes, for he had been a working actor in Hollywood for over a decade. Boyce was best known for starring as Carlos in the Descendants TV movie trilogy, but he also portrayed Luke Ross in the Disney Channel series Jessie, starring Debby Ryan and Peyton List, and most recently appeared posthumously as Zach in the HBO series Mrs. Fletcher. But he starred alongside Sandler as well.

Sandler honored Boyce at the end of Hubie Halloween because the late actor was a member of the Happy Madison family. They first collaborated for the 2010 comedy Grown Ups, in which Sandler portrayed a Hollywood agent named Lenny Feder and Boyce appeared as Sandler's on-screen son, Keithie Feder. Both performers reprised their roles for 2013 sequel Grown Ups 2. Sandler's 2020 film Hubie Halloween includes the following tribute after a bloopers sequence:

“In loving memory of Cameron Boyce. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”

The Hubie Halloween tribute to Boyce has a deeper meaning, as the late actor was originally scheduled to appear in the film as a bully. The role later went to Karan Brar, an American actor who worked with Boyce in both Jessie and Bunk'd. In 2020, Boyce appeared posthumously in Showbiz Kids (a documentary written and directed by Bill and Ted star Alex Winter) and the feature film thriller Runt. In 2019, The Cameron Boyce Foundation was established to help young creatives achieve their goals. The Thirst Project also changed the name of their Pioneering Spirit Award to the Cameron Boyce Pioneering Spirit Award.

In August 2019, Cameron's parents - Victor and Libby Boyce - spoke about their son's life and legacy (via ABC News). They recalled his positive attitude and potential in the entertainment industry, and how he would inspire others with his creativity and originality. Libby Boyce stated, "We want to continue his legacy, we want to honor him, we want to do all the things that he wanted to do... we're now his voice." As for Sandler, he honored Cameron Boyce with a Hubie Halloween tribute that will undoubtedly inspire audiences to learn more about the late actor's work, and all of the organizations that he supported.
