The Huawei Watch GT Cyber stands out from other smartwatches with its distinctive take on styling. For most smartwatches and fitness trackers, the main way to style them is by changing the bands. These straps, which come in a variety of materials and colors, can be official ones made by the watch manufacturer itself or those made by third parties.

Another option, which isn't common, is with cases that also provide protection against scratches. However, this isn't available for all types of all smartwatches, likely due to the design of the watch itself or its popularity. For those that are supported, buyers are spoiled for choice with the multitude of design and color options available.

For the Huawei Watch GT Cyber, owners not only get to swap straps but can also swap the shell/case. Actually, the shell and strap are linked, so users are swapping both and not one or the other. This design is similar to what is available on several fitness trackers, such as the Xiaomi Mi Band 7, wherein users can easily pop out the tracking capsule and place it in a replacement strap. However, in the case of the Huawei Watch GT Cyber, the watch, available on the Huawei web store looks entirely different depending on the choice of shell a user chooses. There are also themes that are designed to go with certain shell types.

Huawei offers three shell types; these are the Urban Pioneer and Fashion shells, which are made from a mix of nanocrystalline ceramic and stainless steel, and the Sports shell, made from reinforced composite fiber. The smartwatch has a 5 ATM water resistance rating and is reported to have passed 16 military standard tests. Design aside, the Huawei Watch GT Cyber packs what's expected of an average smartwatch. It has a 1.32-inch color AMOLED display with a 466 × 466 resolution, a sensor for all-day heart rate and blood oxygen saturation monitoring, and is also capable of sleep tracking. There is also stress tracking with breathing exercises.

The Huawei Watch GT Cyber can track more than 100 sports, and it has a five-satellite GNSS chip for real-time tracking. The watch has built-in storage, so owners can store their offline playlists and listen to them when the watch is paired to Bluetooth headphones. They can also control playback on a connected device right from their wrists. Huawei has also added an integrated speaker and microphone that allows users to take calls on the watch. The Huawei Watch GT Cyber connects via Bluetooth and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. It also has NFC for contactless payments.

Huawei says the watch's battery life is about seven days in light usage mode and up to four days in heavy usage mode. It has support for wireless charging and can be placed on a Qi wireless charger to recharge. The Huawei Watch GT Cyber starts at ¥1288 (~$176) for the Sports version and goes up to ¥1488 (~$204) for the Urban and Fashion variants. Replacement shells start at ¥199 (~$27) and go up to ¥369 (~$51).
