Warning! This article contains spoilers for Andor episode 11.Andor episode 11 set up plenty of things for the show's season finale, and here is every way that set up can be paid off in Andor episode 12. Andor episode 12 will be the last of season 1, until a 12-episode second season takes the characters right up to the onset of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. With the penultimate episode promising big things for the season finale, here is every way Andor episode 12 was set up.

Firstly, Andor episode 12 is very likely to see a return to Ferrix for the titular character. Since the ending of Andor epsiode 3, Ferrix has become a hub of Imperial activity searching for Cassian. From the torture of Bix to the death of Maarva Andor, and with Cinta still on the lookout for Cassian, Ferrix has plenty of setup going into Andor episode 12. On the other side of the story, Luthen and Mon Mothma are still navigating their respective Rebel Alliance activities, with both likely featuring in the final episode. Finally, Andor's season 1 finale could see a fair few deaths, with only a few characters known to survive in canon past this point.

Andor Sets Up A Big Final Showdown On Ferrix For Episode 12

The main thing that Andor episode 12 sets up is an explosive culmination on Ferrix. Andor episode 11, and its preceding episodes, have been moving pieces around the specific board of Ferrix to culminate in the season finale, with many major characters seemingly coalescing on the planet. Firstly, Cinta is on Ferrix after Andor episode 6 scouting for Andor's return on the orders of Luthen, who will see the return of Vel should the former find Cassian. Still on Ferrix are the many characters introduced in Andor's first three episodes, such as Bix, Brasso, and B2EMO. On top of this, Maarva Andor passed away in Andor episode 11, meaning Cassian himself will likely return to the planet.

In terms of the Imperial presence that will see the other side of the Ferrix showdown, Dedra Meero has been spending plenty of time on Ferrix in order to find Andor, and by extension Luthen. Given Maarva's death, it is likely Meero also returns to Ferrix to catch Andor on his return after his prison escape in Andor episode 10. Also in play is Syril Karn who has a grudge against Andor and longs to work his way up the ranks of the Imperial Security Bureau. In Andor episode 11, Karn received word of Maarva's death from Linus Mosk, meaning he will likely travel to Ferrix to further his own goals. All of this sets up an explosive showdown on the planet, hinted at by Andor's still-unseen trailer footage.

Is Mon Mothma Really Going To Marry Off Her Daughter?

Mon Mothma and Leida Mothma from Andor

In terms of Mon Mothma, whose character has her own issues away from Ferrix, Andor episode 12 will likely see the resolution of her potential deal with Davo Sculdun. In a bid to keep her financial support of the Rebellion away from the eyes of the Empire, Mon enlisted the help of Davo, who offered to aid her in return for the meeting of their respective children. While not overtly stating so, it was clear that Davo wishes to marry off Mon Mothma's daughter, Leida, to his son, something Mon vehemently opposed. Andor episode 11, however, showcased just how fragile and terrified Mon is in regard to her situation, seeing no way out of her problem.

It is likely that Andor episode 12 sees the resolution of this. Whether Mon Mothma decides to go through with it and betroth her daughter to Davo's son remains to be seen. That being said, given how nothing is known of Mon Mothma's family life outside of Andor, especially in her later years as the Rebellion leader, it could be possible that Mon goes through with it, causing her family to abandon her and explaining their absence later in the Star Wars timeline. Not only would this draw Mon closer to the morally-gray area of the Rebellion story that Andor thrives in, but it would make her character much more compelling and ultimately tragic due to her hesitancy to marry off her daughter.

How Andor Episode 12 Could Bring Cassian And Mon Mothma Together

Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma in Andor

However, there could also be another way Mon Mothma's story is resolved in Andor episode 12 that involves her and Cassian's first meeting. Andor episode 11 featured Mothma telling Vel, her cousin, about her money problems which greatly disturbed Vel due to her love for her cousin and also Leida herself. One thing that was also mentioned in the scene was the Aldhani heist, in which Vel played a part alongside Andor. If Vel, Cinta, and Andor are reunited in Andor episode 12, the three could pool their earnings from the heist during the Eye of Aldhani together to help Mothma.

While this may seem unlikely, there are ways that Andor has been subtly setting up the possibility. Firstly, despite Cinta and Vel being tasked with killing Andor, Vel could spare the latter in order to save Mon. In terms of why Andor would help a stranger, he could finally be brought into the fold and made aware of Luthen and Mon's wider plans. Given Cassian's torird time at the hands of the Empire thanks to Narkina 5, the treatment of Bix and Ferrix, and the imminent Ferrix uprising, he could agree to give his Aldhani money to Mon and help her, bringing the two together to foreshadow season 2.

Will Luthen Go Through With His Anto Kreegyr Plan?

Luthen Rael in Andor Episode 10.

In regard to the other main Rebellion leader of Andor, Stellan Skarsgård's Luthen Rael, he has his own issues surrounding the planned attack of Anto Kreegyr on an Imperial base. The raid at Spellhaus has been set up since Andor episode 8, yet Luthen has been made aware that the ISB know the attack is coming. Luthen was then faced with a choice: do not alert Kreegyr and sacrifice his cell so that the ISB remains unaware of Luthen's mole, or tell Kreegyr and save his men but risk the ISB's discovery of Luthen's network. Andor episode 11 saw Luthen give the choice to Saw Gerrera, with Andor episode 12 likely paying off this story.

Andor episode 11 made it so that Saw Gerrera chose to sacrifice Kreegyr and his men, seemingly putting the storyline to bed. However, given Luthen's incapability of making the choice, it is possible that it still remains a factor in Andor episode 12. It is no secret that Anto Kreegyr has been important in Andor, so it would not be out of the realm of possibility for him to survive the Spellhaus attack and come back in a way that impacts Luthen. Also, while it is highly unlikely given his character's writing so far, Luthen could choose to use Saw to support Kreegyr, meaning the attack could go ahead despite the ISB still knowing about it.

Who We Know Definitely Survives Andor Season 1 (& Who Could Die)

Cassian Andor Saw Gerrera Mon Mothma

In terms of who lives and who dies in Andor episode 12, there are a few contenders for each. Firstly, it is already known from wider Star Wars stories that Cassian, Melshi, Mon Mothma, and Saw Gerrera all live past this point in the timeline as they are all present in Rogue One. However, other than this, no other characters are confirmed to live past Andor in Star Wars canon, given that most are original creations. With that being said, there are a number of characters who could potentially die in Andor's season finale.

Some of the more likely candidates to die in Andor episode 12 are the Ferrix crew. Given that there is likely going to be a large scale fight on the planet, someone like Bix, who is already weakened from the Empire's torture, could also be killed. Not only would this be tragic for the character, but it would further foment Cassian's hatred of the Empire. The same can be said for any of Cassian's other friends, like Brasso or even B2EMO. The latter could further set up Andor's eventual friendship with K-2SO, by establishing his reasoning for having such a strong connection with droids.

There is also a possibility that Vel and Cinta could be caught in the crossfire on Ferrix. At the very least, Cinta will still be on Ferrix when the inevitable clash breaks out. In regard to Luthen, it is unlikely that he is killed in Andor episode 12, given his importance to the first season, Skarsgård's fantastic performance, and the amazingly compelling nature of his character. Similarly, Dedra Meero and Syril Karn will likely survive, setting up the further rivalry between the two and Luthen/Andor. That being said, previous arc culmination episodes such as "The Eye" and "One Way Out" have not been afraid to include major character deaths, meaning Andor's season finale could follow suit.
