How To Turn Off Popular Highlights
To get started, you first need to open a book on your Kindle. With the book open, tap the top of the screen near the Kindle's bezel to show the book's settings page. Tap the 'Aa' button near the top right, tap 'More,' swipe up on the menu to scroll down, and tap the toggle next to 'Popular Highlights.' You can still make your own highlights in the book, but you'll no longer see highlights from other users.
The best part? You only need to turn off Popular Highlights once. Although it may look like you're only turning off Popular Highlights for the specific book you opened, turning it off for one book turns it off for every book on your Kindle. If you ever want to re-enable Popular Highlights, open any book and follow the same steps above. You're free to turn Popular Highlights on and off as much as you'd like, so play around with both options and see which you prefer.
