Even once players have beaten the main story of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, the true final boss remains a final challenge to unlock by accessing an additional chapter at the end of the game. Named The Affirmer of Phenomena, this fight earns players a secret ending that lends new context to the story. In addition, several new outfits are gained once this foe is defeated, allowing players to go through each chapter with a new gameplay style that changes their experience from the first playthrough.

Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS ahead for Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

The only way to find the true final boss is through Jeanne's Tale, a side story unlocked once players complete all 13 main story chapters. Located in the "Extras" option in the title screen, Jeanne's Tale features Cereza's future rival, Jeanne, with a new companion that differs slightly in combat. Players are recommended to become familiar with these changes. The Affirmer of Phenomena can only be defeated as Jeanne since this foe kidnaps Cereza going into this epilogue. Similar to side chapters found after beating Bayonetta 3, Jeanne represents a change in difficulty that could present a bigger challenge than the base game.

How To Fight The True Final Boss in Bayonetta Origins

Bayonetta Origins The Affirmer of Phenomena True Final Boss Found in Jeanne's Tale Additional Story Chapter

Players have a different companion against the true final boss, named "Charles" or Red Cheshire, who has a slightly bigger area of effect on their Thorn Bind magical ability. Thankfully, players can also utilize any changed form using any Elemental Cores when using Charles in battle, as well as free switching between Hug and Unleashed modes. However, with a longer cooldown on Thorn Bind with Red Cheshire, players have to adjust slightly when fighting The Affirmer due to these changes in their companion.

This boss has multiple AoE attacks that force the player to move around the battlefield constantly to avoid damage. The Affirmer of Phenomena occasionally summons minions for Red Cheshire and Jeanne to fight on top of these strikes, making this a chaotic battle worthy of a secret boss. Serving as an accumulation of the genuinely good fun of Bayonetta Origins, players might struggle to face this dangerous foe.

The rewards for defeating the Affirmer are three new outfits and a secret ending. The hidden ending shows Jeanne's vow to become the strongest Umbran witch while parting ways with Red Cheshire and reuniting with Cereza. The final outfits that unlock with the defeat of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon are of Jeanne, Charles, and the Arch Eve Origin costume, with the first two switching gameplay in the main story to the same seen in Jeanne's Tale.
