Remy, the notorious little chef from Disney and Pixar's Ratatouille, is now an unlockable character in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Disney Dreamlight Valley is an adventure simulator game from Gameloft and Disney that allows players to create an avatar, meet Disney characters, and build their own village. There is plenty of hope. So for players interested in having Remy, the culinary rat genius, as their village chef.
Disney Dreamlight Valley presents the story of Remy after the events of a catastrophe that left him stranded in another realm. According to game lore, Remy was once a resident of Dreamlight Valley, but he got whisked away and was forced to start a new life maintaining his own restaurant, Chez Remy, in the new world. Because the little chef is already settled in his new life, players must convince Remy to leave his world in Disney Dreamlight Valley and reside in their village.
To access Remy's world in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players first need to progress through Merlin's quests to gain access to Dream Castle. After completing Merlin's quest to remove the Night Thorns that block Dream Castle's entrance, players will be able to enter. Inside the castle, players will see three Realm Doors. The rightmost door can be selected to take players to “a restaurant with a great little chef," where they will find Remy.
Unlocking Remy for the Village in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Upon entering the correct realm within Dream Castle, players will find Remy working in the kitchen. Talking to Remy reveals various kitchen duties players will need to perform to convince the chef to enter their village. For example, after players wash three sets of dirty dishes (found in bins around the kitchen) with the Watering Can, Remy will ask players to prepare a series of recipes in Disney Dreamlight Village to satisfy his hungry guests. The ingredients for every recipe can be found on shelves inside the kitchen.
The first cooking task Remy assigns players in Disney Dreamlight Valley in their efforts to welcome him to their village is to prepare a fish dish. Players can grab the Rainbow Trout from the shelf and take it to the cooking station to create Grilled Fish. Using just one fish satisfies the quest to create one fish dish.
After cooking a fish, payers can then move on to Remy's next task: creating a fruit dish. The recipe revealed in this Disney Dreamlight Valley Recipe Book is for fruit salad, and the icon shown indicates that only one fruit is required. Therefore, players need only grab one fruit from the shelf and take it to the cooking station to fulfill the recipe for Fruit Salad.
After Disney Dreamlight Valley players have succeeded in creating single-ingredient dishes, it's time for things to get a little more complicated. Remy's next request is for players to create either a Hearty Salad (1x Lettuce, 2x vegetables) or Bell Pepper Puffs (1x Bell Pepper, 1x Egg, 1x Cheese). Both recipes require three ingredients, so whichever players can find in the kitchen can satisfy this requirement.
Once the first healthy course has been prepared, Remy will ask players to choose the main course. These options include a Margherita Pizza (1x Tomato, 1x Cheese, 1x Wheat, 1x Spice) or Vegetable Casserole (1x Cheese, 2x Vegetables, 1x Spice). All recipes in Disney Dreamlight Valley can be found in the Cookbook on one of the kitchen counters if players are unsure how to make something.
After the main course, naturally, comes dessert. Remy will ask players to make either a Banana Pie or Apple Pie. Unfortunately, however, he only reveals one ingredient: Butter. Luckily the fruit part of the pie is pretty easy to figure out; players will need to collect either a Banana or an Apple (depending on what kind of pie they'd like to make) from the ingredient shelf and bring it to the cooking station for prep. The final ingredient players will need for this course is Wheat, a common component in baked goods.
At this point in Disney Dreamlight Valley players' recipe preparation, a food critic has decided to come in, but Remy is too busy and will ask the player for more help with their order. For the critic's order, players must make a Ranch Salad (1x Lettuce, 1x Tomato, 1x Corn, 1x Bell Pepper, 1x Onion). Talking to Remy again will reveal the entire recipe.
After the salad has been made, Remy will require Disney Dreamlight Valley players to make one final dish: Ratatouille. Because Remy is so cryptic with the recipe for this dish, there might be some guesswork involved for players. Luckily, this recipe isn't too complicated and can be found inside the Cookbook (1 Tomato, 3 Vegetables, 1 Spice). Once the Ranch Salad and the Ratatouille have been completed and served to the critic through the serving window, players will have completed all of Remy's kitchen tasks.
At this point, Disney Dreamlight Valley players can continue talking to Remy and be convinced to travel with them to the village because he has a place to stay. Players can then head back to the Disney Dreamlight Valley Village and find a good spot to place Remy’s house. Under the Furniture menu in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can find this house under Remy's icon. After placing the house in the spot of their choice, players can use the sign in front to talk to Scrooge to begin the house's construction, which will cost 2,000 Star Coins. After the house's completion, players can speak to Remy one last time to cash in the entire quest. After that, Remy will be available to talk to as an NPC (non-player character) at any time.
Convincing Remy to leave his world and join Dreamlight Valley Village allows Disney Dreamlight Valley players to build friendships by completing more of his quests. Befriending Remy also will enable players to renovate Chez Remy, now the village’s restaurant, and stock the fridge with ingredients without using personal inventory space. Players can also benefit from having Remy in their village because doing so allows them to discover new dish recipes in his kitchen.
