The open world map of Tower of Fantasy is not only vast but also rich with activities, secrets, and landmarks to discover and explore. For example, the starting area of Astra is notably smaller than the rest of the currently available map. Yet, it offers more than enough content for Wanderers to spend many hours completing everything there is to do within this initial region. Accordingly, once adventurers finish their tour of Astra or wish for a change of scenery, they will naturally wonder how they can unlock the rest of the world map in Tower of Fantasy.
In terms of accessing the rest of the world map in Tower of Fantasy, Wanderers must progress through the main storyline by organically following the main quests provided to them. Of course, some might prefer to explore the regions however they please without being restrained by the narrative; nevertheless, the story plays a central role in Tower of Fantasy. Not only does it unlock new weapons, gadgets, and dungeons, but the main questline introduces the player to new locations and mechanics they would have otherwise not known about. Therefore, it is essential for players to progress through the main story.
On the other hand, some Wanderers might be curious about how they can unlock Tower of Fantasy's world map in a visual sense. When opening the in-game, newcomers will see a thick fog of war concealing the terrain layout and many landmarks of an unexplored region. While this mechanic does not hinder their ability to view and interact with the active world, it can be rather irritating not to be able to see important locations on the map.
Unlocking the Full World Map in Tower of Fantasy
Fortunately, the solution to this fog-of-war issue is simple. To unlock the entire world map in Tower of Fantasy, Wanderers must find and activate the Omnium Towers within every region. These towering massive structures are characterized by a circular portal-like device built into their spires. Once activated, the map surrounding the tower will become visually apparent, revealing topography details, landmarks, and more. Wanderers will encounter an Omnium Tower relatively early during their playthrough.
A good comparison in Genshin Impact for Omnium Towers in Tower of Fantasy would be the Statues of the Seven throughout Teyvat. When activated, they reveal a large portion of the map, allowing players to see details in the terrain, such as elevation or bodies of water. Hence, Wanderers are encouraged to prioritize seeking these towers out as soon as they enter a new region in Tower of Fantasy.

- In Tower of Fantasy, mankind has been forced to leave Earth in search of new frontiers due to the depletion of resources and energy. Now humanity has migrated to Aida, a lush alien world that supports human life. However, Omnium radiation causes a catastrophic event which will require heroes from all over to bring everything back to normal. Tower of Fantasy is a free-to-play multiplayer game with action RPG elements, where players can create their own protagonists while gathering new heroes, weapons, and classes as they travel the world of Aida. Similar to Genshin Impact, players can partner with others as they travel the land collecting materials and upgrades for their teams. Tower of Fantasy has entered an early open access beta as of August 11th, and will fully release on Steam in Q4 of 2022.
