Live A Live features six different main endings. These are all part of the final ninth chapter, with only some impact from the previous stories. Still, with the ability to replay story sections, it is possible to see the small variants with a single save file.

Among the minor alterations includes the main character selected for the final chapter. While the core story plays out the same, each of the possible nine heroes has slight dialogue changes. This even includes which of the three possible Earthen Heart Masters ascended during the Live A Live China stage.

To make it easier to view all endings it is recommended to have multiple save files. One should at least be at the Live A Live chapter select screen, while another right before battling the final boss, Odio. This will allow players to quickly reload and watch whichever ending they please.

Live A Live Remake How Long To Beat Nintendo Switch Chapters

The fate of time and the universe depend on the party makeup for the Dominion of Hate in Live A Live. The exact members are not important, just the overall size of the team. Additionally, some protagonists have their own unique final scenarios.

  • Normal Ending: Defeat the final boss, Pure Odio, with a party of four main characters.
  • Game Over Ending: Lose the battle with Pure Odio. A special extended game over will play, complete with ending credits.
  • Trapped Ending: Fight Pure Odio with a team of all seven heroes of Live A Live. Once defeated, agree to kill him for good.
  • True Ending: Similar to the above, challenge Pure Odio with a team of seven party members. This time, refuse to kill him and walk away. Players will then need to defeat all seven incarnations of Odio as the respective main character. Finally, Odio will transform into the Sin of Odio. This battle uses all eight main characters - including Oersted - in a final confrontation.
  • Dark Lord Ending: Select Oersted as the final main hero. During the final battles, kill all seven main protagonists.
  • Armageddon Ending: Select Oersted, but during any of the encore final fights begin to lose. In the combat menu will be a new option of “Armageddon”. Selecting it will play an ending similar to the Game Over one.

Sin of Odio Mechanics

The newly added boss for the Live of Live remake is fought over four waves. Sin of Odio will first be directly battled by the team that took on Pure Odio. There will not be a chance to switch members, but players can change equipment prior to fighting the seven incarnations of Odio. Around halfway through the fight, the main team will become paralyzed and all reserve characters - typically three members - will jump in to fight Sin of Odio. After dealing some additional damage, the previous four will break free and it will become a seven versus one fight. Finally, once Sin of Odio is in critical condition, Oersted will also participate. He only needs to unleash one or two attacks to finally kill the boss and view the ultimate ending of Live A Live.
