The snowy fields of the Fractured Peaks in Diablo IV's Beta host many secrets, including riddles players can find out how to solve called The Secret of Spring. A mysterious turn of phrase whose solution is far from obvious, this riddle and side quest provides players plenty of loot and XP when completed. However, players might struggle to interpret exactly what the game wants when reading The Secret of Spring for the first time, as it doesn't give a clear direction, unlike many other quests.
Players looking for this side quest must travel to the Kylslik Plateau, which lies west of the Frigid Expanse area. Traveling north from Kyovashad's eastern exit puts players on the right path, leading toward a section of the map with two climbing icons leading to a place with higher elevation. As players are looking to reach level 25 fastest in Diablo IV through the Forsaken Quarry dungeon, they might run into this location by accident. The quest initiates when players pick up the Discarded Note item on a platform above the dungeon they can reach from a nearby ladder.
The Secret of Spring Riddle Solution In Diablo IV
The quest marker that appears once players take the Discarded Note takes them to a spell spring of water deep within the mountains. The riddle says, "Beacon of warmth in winter's embrace, patience rewarded by nature's own grace." This may stump quite a few readers. However, the key to this riddle lies in the word "patience," as it refers to the wait emote from the Action Wheel. By pressing "E" on PC or equivalent input for controllers, players can bring up several options, which they may have used to exit dungeons quickly during their travels.
Opening the wheel and selecting wait cause the player's character to sit still for a few moments, a feat that may not have been possible throughout the normal activities seen in the game. Waiting next to the spring for this time causes a chest to spring out of the water, which players may open for gold, loot, and rewarded XP granted to their character. It is worth noting that although the items found from learning how to solve The Secret of Spring riddle are excellent contributions to the Beta, players will not be able to carry these rewards into Diablo 4's official release.
