As players progress through the main campaign of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, they will unlock a variety of options in the combat system, including Arts, Fusion Arts, Combinations, and Chain Attacks enhanced by Ouroboros Orders, which becomes available at Interlink Level 3. Those looking to add more damage and effects to their Chain Attacks can have their character transform into their Ouroboros forms in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, resulting in Ouroboros Orders becoming active. However, this combat feature is not possible without raising the player's Interlink Levels.
Interlinking is a crucial element of combat in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, granting units a greater level of power to fight opponents. After unlocking the ability to Interlink, players must increase this mechanic's level during battle to access Ouroboros Orders. This can be done by using Fusion Arts. Therefore, players will need to know how to use this type of Art in combat if they wish to raise their Interlink Level in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
During combat in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players can see two trees of abilities. One set of four skills is on the left, while another four are on the right. To the upper right of the right-side ability section, combatants can see a button to activate their character Fusion Arts. This button is connected to their Nintendo Switch's ZR. Accordingly, players will need to wait for the units' auto attacks to charge up two abilities before pressing ZR and the correlating attack button, which triggers Fusion Arts. As a result, both abilities will be cast at the same time.
Raising Interlink Levels In Xenoblade Chronicles 3
For clarification, Fusion Arts can only be used when two abilities using the same button from both sections are not on cooldown and are available for use. For instance, if players wish to use Cross Impact and Landslide together are a Fusion Art, these two attacks must be connected to the same button, such as X. Whenever a Fusion Art attack lands with success in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the Interlink meter will increase by one increment. As mentioned above, Ouroboros Orders become available once Interlinking reaches Level 3. If players wish to bolster the speed at which their Interlink levels increase, they can unlock specific nodes on the Ouroboros Soul Tree. With max-level Interlinking, the player characters will be able to deal the highest possible damage to enemy targets.
