Previously, Sapphires could only be found in the Dream Castle's secret treasure room in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but the "Scar and Halloween" update has officially brought the valuable blue Gem into the game. Similar to Rubies, Sapphires can be sold for 1,000 Star Coins, while their Shiny variants net a profit of 4,000 Star Coins, a value much higher than any of the existing Shiny Gems in the Valley. Therefore, going on a mining expedition to find either of these new gemstones will certainly yield a worthwhile profit.

On the other hand, players might need the Sapphires for crafting house furnishing or exterior decor in Disney Dreamlight Valley. There were also several Friendship Quests that required players to collect specific Gems for crafting or completing a particular objective. While it is still too early to state what Sapphires might be used for in the future, it might be a good idea for wealthy Dreamers to save these Gems instead of selling them for Star Coins.

To get Sapphires in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must mine mineral nodes within the Plateau Mine, commonly referred to as the Vitalys Mines. The entrance to this underground location can be found on the northern side of the Sunlit Plateau, specifically where the mouth of the river is located. Newcomers who have yet to unlock this world biome in Disney Dreamlight Valley will need to spend 7,000 Dreamlight to clear away the Night Thorns covering the entryway.

Finding Sapphires in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Sapphire and Sapphire Node in the Vitalys Mines in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The mining nodes of the Vitalys Mines look slightly different from the normal nodes that players encounter in the overworld of the Valley. The mineral boulders in the mines have large streaks of blue and green across their surface. This feature is likely a design choice to ensure players are able to clearly see these mining nodes while exploring the dimly lit mineshaft tunnels. Harvesting these special nodes is the same process as normal minerals. Players can equip their Pickaxe and hold the interact button to collect the ore and Gems in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

As one would expect, finding Sapphires in Disney Dreamlight Valley can be tricky since they are moderately rare. However, if Dreamers ever encounter a mineral node with shards, similar to Peridot in Disney Dreamlight Valley, however, these shards are blue in color, protruding from the rock. This harvestable POI will yield a guaranteed Sapphire. Before embarking on a mining expedition for Sapphires or Rubies, fans should always make sure to bring along companions with the Mining skill to increase the number of Gems gathered during a trip.
