Gems such as Citrine are rare resources in Disney Dreamlight Valley and can often be useful for players in a wide variety of different situations. The game features 23 different types of gemstones, all of which can be found by mining rock spots in all of Dreamlight Valley’s different biomes. Gemstones serve a wide variety of different purposes and will occasionally be used as quest items for friendship quests as players work to build friendships with the Disney characters that call Dreamlight Valley home. In addition, gemstones often have more practical uses and can be sold for Star Coins or used in various crafting recipes to make special decorative items. Often, tracking down specific gems, such as peridot in Disney Dreamlight Valley, isn’t too tricky, as they will spawn at rock spots in starting areas. However, players searching for citrine will have to journey further afield.

To mine rock spots, players must first complete the Royal Tools quest at the start of the game. This allows players to gather some useful tools, such as a fishing rod, pickaxe, and shovel, so they can get to work completing the game’s different objectives. When unlocking new biomes, players will find rock spots scattered throughout the valley that can be mined with the pickaxe for useful items, including ore for crafting and gemstones. Citrine appears in two specific biomes: the Sunlit Plateau and Glade of Trust, which can only be accessed if players invest Dreamlight.

Where To Find Citrine In Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley Player Looking At Citrine Rock Spot In Sunlit Plateau

Players who’ve welcomed The Lion King’s Scar to Dreamlight Valley will already be familiar with the Sunlit Plateau, which lies directly west of the starting Plaza area. Unfortunately, accessing this area isn’t cheap and will set players back a hefty 7,000 Dreamlight. Given the cost, players might opt to unlock the Glade of Trust south of the Peaceful Meadow area instead; at 5,000 Dreamlight, this is a bit cheaper and could save players time that they might otherwise spend grinding tasks.

To find citrine, all players need to do is mine the rock spots that appear in either or both of these biomes. Citrine can appear as an orange gem embedded in these rock spots, allowing players to identify it easily. It’s also worth noting that rock spots without gems can still drop Citrine. Similar to mining for Shiny Aquamarine in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players may end up with Shiny Citrine, a shiny version of the gem with a lower drop rate and higher sell value.

It’s possible that players won’t find any citrine even if they mine all of the rock spots in both of these areas. However, rock spots do respawn, allowing players to take another crack at finding some gemstones. When meeting new villagers, players can give them a specialty that can grant extra drops from certain activities if they accompany players. A recommended strategy is to pick the Mining specialty when recruiting a new villager, such as The Little Mermaid’s Prince Eric, and have them accompany players whenever they set out to mine gemstones. This gives players a chance to receive more items from mining. Disney Dreamlight Valley’s gemstones are highly valuable, making this an easy and efficient way for players to earn some extra Star Coins.
