Many of the characters on How to Get Away with Murder have been involved in questionable acts. At the center of most of these cruel deeds is Bonnie Winterbottom. If Bonnie didn't commit the evil act, she likely helped in the planning or aftermath.

Bonnie rarely sees herself as the one to blame. She often criticizes the Keating 5 for questioning their loyalty to Annalise as Bonnie believes the group is at fault for most of the sticky situations they have gotten into. Bonnie needs to take some responsibility for her own actions and recognize the contributions she made. Here are the 10 worst things Bonnie has done.

Using Asher

Bonnie and Asher's relationship was very short-lived. No one was surprised when it didn't work out due to their vastly different and contrasting personalities. When reflecting on how Bonnie and Asher's relationship began, it is clear that Bonnie didn't have the best intentions.

After Bonnie meets a man at a bar, there is a scene of her and the man making out in a hotel lobby. She leaves the hotel looking distraught. It is then that she decides to go over to Asher's place. It seems clear that she went over to Asher's and seduced him not because she actually had feelings for him, but because she wanted to feel better about herself after whatever happened in that hotel.

Blackmailing Denver

At the beginning of season 4, Annalise invites the Keating 4 to dinner and shocks them by firing them all. The person who is the most surprised at this dinner is Bonnie when Annalise turns and does the same to her. With few other options, Bonnie seeks out a job at the DA's office.

The acting DA at the time, Todd Denver, was not exactly on good terms with Annalise and their gang. In order to secure herself a position, Bonnie blackmailed Denver, who had more than a few skeletons in his closet.

Evidence Tampering

Basically the entire cast of How to Get Away with Murder has tampered with evidence at some point. Just because it is commonplace in the show though doesn't make it okay! There were many instances of Bonnie fabricating, destroying, or altering evidence on behalf of Annalise and the Keating 5.

Perhaps the worst case of evidence tampering is in season 3 where Bonnie distracts a police officer at the scene of the fire so that Oliver can drop Annalise's phone underneath the ambulance. This was after Oliver wiped Annalise's phone clean of any evidence that could be incriminating,

Covering Up The Death Of Janie

One of the vilest clients Annalise defends in the present-day timeline is Toby Solomon. Through their dealings with this client, Toby admits that he had murdered an 18-year-old named Janie. This confession, made to Bonnie and Annalise, haunts Bonnie and she takes to scrolling through images of the missing girl on the internet.

And yet, when Annalise decides to pin this murder on another inmate, protecting her client and obtaining a 3-year sentence for his involvement in a second murder, Bonnie does nothing. She had the power to go to the police or pressure Annalise to recuse herself from the case. Instead, Bonnie went along with this plan and stopped Toby from getting the punishment he deserved.

Turning on Annalise

After Annalise fired her, Bonnie was pretty upset. She began working at the DAs office and had a vengeful attitude towards Annalise. She used Oliver to hack Annalise's phone and teamed up with Nate to gather evidence. She even reported some of the information she found to the DA and they used it against Annalise in their cases.

This leads to an altercation between Annalise and Bonnie in the parking lot of the courthouse. The altercation escalates and they two begin to attack each other.

Flirtatious Relationship With Sam

Bonnie's abuse greatly impacted the way she develops relationships with others, especially men. Since she has not fully dealt with the trauma of her past, she regularly finds herself interested in men that are not good for her. One of these men was Sam, Bonnie's therapist who happens to be Annalise's husband.

Through flashbacks, it is shown that Bonnie had a complicated relationship with Sam. She regularly stares at him longingly and engaged in a number of flirtatious conversations with him. The two even shared a kiss, which Bonnie later confesses to Annalise.

Turning Her Back On Her Sister

Bonnie and her sister Julie were both victims of repeated sexual abuse as a child. This abuse was orchestrated by their parents, as they sold their children and made videos to turn a profit. This tragedy has a great impact on both Bonnie and Julie. Julie becomes a struggling addict.

Although it can be difficult to maintain a relationship with everything they have been through, Julie is the only person in Bonnie's life who understands the way she was impacted by events in her childhood. If Julie and Bonnie had worked on their relationship, they may have been able to help each other heal, supporting each other and sharing resources.

Refusing To Help With Jasmine's Case

Shortly after being fired by Annalise and beginning her work with the DA's office, Annalise approaches Bonnie asking for help with a case. The client is Jasmine Bromelle, a woman who was sex trafficked beginning at the age of 13.

Although arrested as a child, this woman was charged with prostitution instead of offered help. This leads her down a lifelong path of crime as she didn't see other options for herself. While Bonnie's grudge with Annalise is understandable, it's shocking that Bonnie wouldn't want to help with this case, especially given her past.

Turning Away Lila

Before her death, Lila Stangard shows up at Annalise's house. She wants to confess the affair and pregnancy to Annalise. Bonnie answers the door, and although it is clear that Lila is romantically involved with Sam, Bonnie turns Lila away. This is likely due to Bonnie's infatuation with Sam and her desire to protect him. Had Bonnie just let Lila into the house that day, none of the murders on the show would have occurred.

Annalise would have left Sam, sparing both Sam and Lila's lives. And if Sam hadn't died, Rebecca wouldn't have been murdered and the police wouldn't be looking into Annalise. And if the police weren't looking into Annalise, Sinclair wouldn't have been blacking mailing Asher, which means that Sinclair and Asher's father would still be alive. While all of these murders seem very separate, they are all linked. And they all count have been avoided had Bonnie just let Lila speak to Annalise.

Murder

Bonnie murdered Rebecca and Miller, the latter a completion of a murder that Nate started. In both of these cases, Bonnie believed that she was doing the right thing. She killed Rebecca to protect Sam and Annalise and because she believed she may have been involved with Lila's death. She killed Miller, her boyfriend, because she believed he was involved with the murder of Nate Sr. She also happened to do this while she was in charge of Laurel's son, Christopher, placing him in the snow onlooking the scene in order to free her hands.

Unlike many of the other murders on this show, the two people Bonnie killed were entirely innocent of the crimes of which they were accused. Bonnie took the lives of two people who did not deserve to be murdered, making this the worst thing Bonnie has ever done.
