As Connor screamed "I screwed up" over and over again, Oliver put his hand on his shoulder and consoled him, telling him it didn't matter. Connor didn't take these words too kindly. He grabbed the gun that Annalise had and prepared himself to shoot her in the head. He almost did it but Michaela jumped in between them to stop him from doing something he was going to regret. Connor came back to his senses and dropped the gun. He exited the room, but not before letting out a rant on how he hated Annalise.

Connor went on to confront Oliver about this in the premiere episode of Season 3. Connor soon learned that Oliver did it deliberately so that he could break up with him. He refused to break up with Oliver and reaffirms his love for him. This confused Oliver, who was left with no choice but to break up with Connor himself.
