Guts, the custom Power Shotgun formerly owned by the trigger-happy Rebecca in Cyberpunk Edgerunners, can now be added to players’ arsenals in Cyberpunk 2077. Following the introduction of the game’s 1.6 Edgerunners update, players stepping into the shoes of the mercenary V to explore the streets of Night City can claim items belonging to the crew of Edgerunners series protagonist David Martinez. The Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime has been well-received by critics and fans alike, and as a response to the series’ release, the game’s developers at CD Projekt Red have added a small content DLC with update 1.6 to link the series to the game. Although Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners DLC is a missed opportunity for those who wanted more than the occasional nod to the events of the anime, Rebecca’s Guts shotgun is still powerful enough that most players will want to add it to their arsenals.
Players can claim the Guts shotgun starting in Cyberpunk 2077’s second act. Prior to Act 2, players are limited to exploring Night City’s Watson district, taking on odd jobs and gigs to hone their skills for a big job which, if done right, will mean V is set for life. After the start of Act 2, players can finally explore all of Night City to continue the main story and complete a long list of new side jobs and gigs.
Rebecca’s shotgun is one of two items from David’s crew introduced to the game, helping to highlight the shared universe of Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners. Unlike David’s Jacket, which requires players to complete a short quest, the Guts shotgun can be found in Night City and collected without much effort.
Where To Find Rebecca’s Guts Shotgun In Cyberpunk 2077
Fans of the anime may already have some idea where to search for the Guts shotgun: the Memorial Park in Night City’s Corpo Plaza in the City Center district. Unfortunately, the Memorial Park in Cyberpunk 2077 is a fairly large area, making tracking down the Guts shotgun a little tricky. Instead, players should circle around the park ring to the location marked on the map, almost directly opposite Arasaka Tower and on the same side as Militech’s headquarters. Three Buddhist monks can be found seated near the grassy area where the Guts shotgun is lying on the ground next to a bush.
Like Cyberpunk 2077's Bloody Maria shotgun, Guts is a Power Shotgun that fires shots that can ricochet off surfaces. As players might expect, this shotgun packs quite a punch and does both physical and chemical damage, and also has a low chance to inflict the Poison status on enemies that are hit by a blast. To cap off its high damage output, Rebecca’s shotgun also has a magazine with eight shells, increasing the time before players have to reload, making it highly lethal in close-range firefights. However, despite its power, it also has a wide ammo spread and considerable recoil, making it difficult to use for players who’ve followed tech or stealth-based character builds.
To counter this, players can install some of Cyberpunk 2077’s mods to reduce recoil. The Guts shotgun has two open mod slots for players to add their own personal touches to the weapon. A longer-term strategy is to invest more attribute points into V’s Body Attribute. This unlocks perks to reduce shotgun recoil and spread in the Annihilation perk tree: the main focus of players looking to improve their character’s proficiency with shotguns in Cyberpunk 2077.
