Keycards in Garten of Banban are used to activate terminals and open doors. Terminals are color-coded blue, yellow, and red to complete the main scenario. There is also a fourth hidden purple keycard that unlocks an additional room.

Collecting keycards is a calmer portion of Garten of Banban. No enemies are active during the exploration phase. However, picking up the final red keycard causes foes to become active and hostile. They aren’t as outright creepy as monsters found in Project: Playtime, but they can be just as dangerous.

Main Objective Keycards

How to Find Every Keycard in Garten of Banban

Three total keycards are needed to progress and meet Banban himself. The first, Blue Keycard, is almost a freebie sitting on the desk just to the right of the initial starting position. The other two are hidden behind puzzles deeper within the Garten of Banban school.

Yellow Keycard

The Yellow Keycard is found inside the Creativity Area. Players will need to collect six Easter Eggs and give them to the Opila Bird. All of them are close by in structures:

  • On the picnic bench on the right
  • Under the center room log
  • On top of the wooden jungle gym
  • Inside the tube slide, accessed by flying the drone into the large button
  • Sitting under the “Ball Pit Closed” sign
  • Inside the red boat

Red Keycard

The final keycard is inside the Ball Pit room. There where be a set of lights underneath drawings of the six school mascots. The characters are displayed in a different order than seen in the rest of Garten of Banban. So the current combination will instead be Red, White, Green, Pink, Blue, and Orange. However, one should be ready to face danger as Opila will come alive and charge forward. Players should quickly pick up the red keycard and run to safety.

Secret Room Purple Keycard

How to Find Every Keycard in Garten of Banban

To get the optional Purple Keycard, players will need to take an extra step before finishing Garten of Banban. Before completing the previously mentioned light bulb puzzle, head up the ramp on the right. Next, look directly up at the dark shelf overhead and slightly jump until the circle aiming UI turns white, singling an interaction. Finally, press the E key, and one will pick up the seventh Easter Egg. Take this egg back to the stationary Opila to receive the Purple Keycard.

The Purple Keycard can be used to unlock a single purple terminal door in the middle of the Creativity Area. There isn’t much inside this room to see or do. Instead, it contains the final document: a boarding pass for passenger Weverly Mason heading from Montreal, Canada, to Madrid, Spain. The ticket also has a QR code on the bottom right. Scanning it with a smartphone will not lead to a Garten of Banban-related marketing website, only the text “It Really Hurts.”

This plane ticket is part of a pair - the other one found using the Red Keycard to access the final area. This second pass is for Uthman Adam, also heading from Montreal to Madrid. It seems this flight or its passengers will be important for Garten of Banban’s more profound lore.
