In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players can evolve Charcadet into two unique forms, tied to either the Scarlet or Violet version of the latest Pokémon game. In Pokémon Scarlet, players can evolve Charcadet into Armourouge, whereas in Pokémon Violet, they can transform this Fire-type Pokémon into the Fire/Ghost hybrid, Ceruledge. Each evolved version has a unique and powerful signature move, with Ceruledge boasting a powerful HP restoration attack in the form of 'Bitter Blade.' While evolving Charcadet into Ceruledge is relatively simple, finding and obtaining the base Pokémon can take some time if you aren't fortunate enough to stumble across one while exploring the game's various provinces.

The time taken to find one of the strongest Pokémon in Pokémon Violet's wild can vary from player to player, but there are several locations where players can seek out Charcadet before evolving the Pokémon into Ceruledge. Charcadet can be found in the South, East, or West province and is entirely absent from the North province. Due to the small size of Charcadet, they can be difficult to spot, especially at night, as this Pokémon can spawn at any time of the day. Once players encounter and catch a Charcadet, they can level up the Pokémon before evolving it into the powerful Ceruledge form.

Evolving Charcadet to Ceruledge

Charcadet in battle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To evolve Charcadet into one of the best Fire-Type Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, players will need to obtain the evolutionary item, 'Auspicious Armor,' which can be obtained from a trader. This merchant can be found in the town of Zapapico, located in the Eastern region of Paldea. Players must speak with the trader, who will request 10 Sinistea Chips in exchange for the evolutionary item that is required to evolve Charcadet. These chips can be readily obtained by defeating Sinistea Pokémon in the open world.

Sinistea are small Pokémon that resemble miniature teapots and can be challenging to spot due to their size, but they are far from the hardest Pokémon to catch. The Sinistea in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can be found in various locations, but the best spot to find at least 10 Sinisteas quickly is located in the southern section of Alfornada. Defeating a Sinistea will earn the player a single Sinistea chip. Once players collect ten Sinistea chips, they can exchange them with the trader for the 10 of Auspicious Armour. Players can then access the armor set in their Pokédex and apply it to a Charcadet to trigger this Pokémon's evolution into Ceruledge.

Ceruledge's Signature Move and Ability

Ceruledge's Signature Move and Ability

After evolving Charcadet and raising its level to 62, players can utilize the evolved Pokémon's signature move, 'Bitter Blade.' This physical fire-type attack will heal Ceruledge by half the amount of damage they inflict on an enemy in battle, which makes for a compelling blend of offensive and defensive strategy, and will help players in the latter stages of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's main story.

Cereludge's unique ability is a familiar Fire-type move, which protects the Pokémon from fire damage. When Ceruledge is targeted with a Fire-type move, they take no damage and receive a 50% boost to their Fire-type moves. Using Ceruledge's Fire/Ghost abilities in a diverse team of Pokémon can help players overcome enemies from the Ice, Poison, and Physic classes in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
