Fortnite players will be able to experience new My Hero Academia-themed quests and content over the next two weeks. The latest in a long line of Fortnite crossovers, Fortnite x My Hero Academia, introduces new items such as Deku’s Smash and quests that can be completed for Battle Pass XP and themed cosmetic rewards. While smaller in scale compared to past Fortnite crossovers such as Fortnite x Dragon Ball, this new crossover event still offers free and premium players to claim a few extra Battle Stars.

Fortnite features dozens of daily, weekly, and event quests players can complete to level up and earn Battle Stars for their Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 battle passes. While there’s no shortage of objectives players can track, Fortnite x My Hero Academia has introduced four new challenges. Each encourages players to embody their favorite heroes from the hit manga and anime series, with a few simple yet time-consuming objectives for players to get to grips with.

Rescue 6 Training Dummies In The Water

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 My Hero Academia Training Dummy Map Locations

As shown on the map above, six training dummies can be found at specific locations on the Fortnite island. As the quest suggests, all are in bodies of water except the dummy near Brutal Bastion, which is lodged in ice on a frozen lake. These dummies are located near some of Fortnite’s best landing spots this season, including Anvil Square and The Citadel. To rescue a dummy, all players must do is approach it and interact with it when prompted.

This quest is more time-consuming than challenging. First, players should aim to land at Royal Ruin on the western coast before proceeding east past the Citadel and Anvil Square towards Brutal Bastion. This allows them to rescue up to four of the six dummies in a single match. Players can then dedicate a second match to grabbing the two remaining dummies south of the island near Meadow Mansion and Faulty Splits.

Acquire Deku’s Smash

To acquire the Deku’s Smash limited-time event item in Fortnite, players have a couple of options. The easiest method is to proceed to one of the island's three My Hero Academia vending machines, as shown on the map above. Deku’s Smash can be purchased at these machines for 250 Gold Bars. Alternatively, Deku’s Smash can also be looted from All Might Supply Drops. This doesn’t cost any Gold Bars. However, Supply Drop locations are random, and the crates are often hotly contested.

Do 500 Damage With Explosives

Players must do 500 damage with Fortnite’s explosives to complete this challenge. Players can use several different types of explosives against their opponents, including stock grenades as well as exotic items such as Fortnite’s incendiary Firefly Jars.

Explosives can be tricky to use in combat, but a good approach players can use is stealth, giving them time to properly aim their explosives to start firefights with a bang.

Spend 20 Seconds Airborne Using The Shockwave Hammer

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 My Hero Academia Player Bouncing Using Shockwave Hammer

Recently introduced to Fortnite, the Shockwave Hammer is a powerful melee weapon with unique knockback abilities. Players can use it to send their enemies flying with a melee strike or to bounce into the air to traverse the game world. This objective requires players to spend 20 seconds airborne using this ability.

To find a Shockwave Hammer, players should prioritize searching Fortnite’s rare Oathbound Chests, which can often be found at named locations and landmarks. Shockwave Hammers will typically drop from Oathbound Chests. The Shockwave Hammer has a limited number of bounce charges, so players may have to wait for it to recharge.

Each objective completed earns players 20,000 Battle Pass XP, and additional rewards are available for players who complete multiple event quests. For example, completing four Fortnite x My Hero Academia quests will earn players the Deku’s Glove emoticon while completing eight grants the U.A. Cape Back Bling. Four more quests will become available soon, allowing players to grab these items, as well as some extra Fortnite Battle Pass XP.
