Although Giovanni's October 2022 lineup is not as varied as the other Team Rocket Leaders, he is still a formidable threat in Pokémon GO.

While Pokémon GO's Team GO Rocket Leaders are undoubtedly formidable opponents to battle during October 2022, none of the three come close to the challenging mastermind himself — Giovanni. As the overseer of Team GO Rocket and boss of Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra, Giovanni is an adversary that few Trainers can face unprepared. Accordingly, before attempting to take on Team Rocket's boss in Pokémon GO, players must conduct strategic planning regarding which pocket monsters can counter his lineup.

Confronting Giovanni in October 2022 is the same as any other month in Pokémon GO. However, Trainers must first acquire the ultra-rare Super Rocket Radar, a device that can only be unlocked by completing Special Research campaigns related to Team GO Rocket. These Special Research Tasks typically involve players hunting down all three Team GO Rocket Leaders. Once this arduous objective has been fulfilled, Trainers will receive a Super Rocket Radar for their efforts. When the device is equipped, Giovanni is likely to appear at PokéStops or in a Balloon above players' avatars.

According to Dexerto, Giovanni will always begin every fight in October 2022 with Persian as his first pick, and the boss battle will always conclude with his Shadow Latios in Pokémon GO. Therefore, dispatching combatants that can counter these two enemy Pokémon is essential for victory. Giovanni's second monster will be one of the following: Machamp, Nidoking, or Rhyperior. Remember that all the pocket monsters in his lineup are Shadow variants, notably stronger than their standard versions.
