Cliff, one of the Team GO Rocket leaders, is ready for another challenge in August 2022 from trainers who think they have a chance to beat him in Pokémon GO. Cliff's team in August 2022 is the same as it was during the Team GO Rocket Battle weekend event from July 9, 2022, and the villain's team can change within the coming days as it had after the first few days of July. Cliff's team is entirely made up of Shadow Pokémon, and his options for the second and third members of the party can be one of three Pokémon for each spot.

Trainers who wish to beat Giovanni this August in Pokémon GO will have to defeat Cliff beforehand. Because Cliff exclusively uses Shadow Pokémon, his team is significantly stronger than those Pokémon of the same species in either a standard or purified form. Those who manage to defeat him will have the opportunity to catch his Shadow Bulbasaur, the lead Pokémon of the Team GO Rocket leader's party. Bulbasaur is likely the Pokémon that causes the least amount of problems for players during this battle because his remaining two Pokémon are fully-evolved forms.

In addition to Shadow Bulbasaur, Cliff's party consists of a Shadow Crobat, Venusaur, or Omastar for the second Pokémon and either Shadow Swampert, Torterra, or Tyranitar for the last member. Players will not have the opportunity to catch a Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon GO from the fully-evolved members of Cliff's team. Nonetheless, players can capture Cliff's Shadow Bulbasaur after he is defeated, and the Pokémon has a chance of being Shiny.

How To Beat Cliff In Pokémon GO (August 2022)

Pokemon Go Team Rocket Cliff

Cliff's Bulbasaur, Venusaur, Crobat, and Torterra are all weak to Ice-Type moves, and Omastar, Swampert, and Tyranitar are all weak against Grass-type attacks. These types of Pokémon and Pokémon moves are the safest options to use against Cliff, though players may wish to include a Fighting-type Pokémon as well because both Omastar and Tyranitar share weaknesses to those types of moves as well. Cliff's entire team will be weak against Fire-type Pokémon if he uses Bulbasaur, Venusaur, and Torterra in the same battle. Options like Abomasnow and Machamp in Pokémon GO are great to use during this battle, as well as the others listed below.

  • Mewtwo: Psycho Cut and Ice Beam
  • Lapras: Frost Breath and Ice Beam
  • Galarian Darmanitan: Ice Fang and Ice Punch
  • Zarude: Vine Whip, Power Whip, and Dark Pulse
  • Torterra: Razor Leaf and Frenzy Plant
  • Sceptile: Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade
  • Victini: Confusion and V-Create
  • Magmortar: Fire Spin and Fire Punch
