Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5

Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5 climaxes in a confrontation between Darth Vader and Reva, the Third Sister, but it's unclear whether the latter actually dies at the end of the episode. Episode 5 picks up right after episode 4, with Reva and Vader tracking Obi-Wan to Jabiim. The episode reveals a lot more about Reva's character, leading her to a confrontation with both Kenobi and Vader at different points.

The episode reveals that Reva was a Jedi youngling present at the temple during Order 66, something heavily theorized by many since the beginning of Obi-Wan Kenobi. During Order 66 and the attack on the Jedi Temple, Anakin Skywalker attacked Reva, leading to her wanting revenge against Darth Vader. This revenge quest comes to a head in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5 as Reva attacks Vader.

One of the last shots of Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5 reveals that Reva is still alive, but only just. While Vader easily beat Reva in combat, he didn't quite finish her off. Reva was stabbed through the stomach, akin to what she did to the Grand Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 2. However, as with the Grand Inquisitor, Reva is still alive at the end of the episode, though badly wounded. This raises several questions as to how exactly she managed to survive, given the extent of her injuries. There are, however, some explanations, relating to Reva's skill with the Force.

How Reva Can Survive Being Stabbed By Darth Vader

Star Wars Reva Darth Vader

If canon dark side users in Star Wars are anything to go by, Reva will likely use her connection to the dark side to stay alive. One thing that the Grand Inquisitor mentions upon the reveal he is alive is that revenge does wonders for the will to live. This is both an indication of how he survived Reva's attempt on his life, but also how Reva will survive being stabbed by Vader. Reva's need for revenge against both Vader and the Grand Inquisitor will likely be a huge factor in her survival as will the connection between revenge and the dark side.

As Anakin states in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, revenge is not the Jedi way. Clinging to her revenge will fuel Reva's hatred and strengthen her connection to the dark side in order to keep her alive and have another attempt at vengeance. This is also very similar to how Darth Maul's survival was portrayed after being cut in half by Obi-Wan in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, with his hatred and need for revenge keeping him alive. Because of this, the Grand Inquisitors' survival, and even Anakin's survival on Mustafar, it is highly likely that Reva's revenge is what keeps her alive.

Will Reva Die In Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6?

Reva's likely survival leads to the question of what will happen to her in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series finale. Given Reva seemingly learns the truth about Luke Skywalker living with Owen on Tatooine, it is safe to assume she will appear in the last episode of the show in a big way. However, it is also safe to assume that Reva won't make it out of next week's episode alive, given what is known about Star Wars up to this point. Firstly, many Inquisitors, including the Grand Inquisitor, feature in Star Wars: Rebels set four years after Obi-Wan Kenobi. If Reva were still alive, she would likely have been in Star Wars: Rebels with the rest of the Inquisitors, hinting at her death at the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Also, another thing that is introduced in Star Wars: Rebels is Obi-Wan's fierce protectiveness of Luke Skywalker as seen by Kenobi killing Maul once the latter finds out about Luke's existence. Given how Reva may now know about Luke and Leia's origins, it is safe to assume that Kenobi will need to stop Reva from revealing this information to anyone else. Whether the show will go as far as showing Obi-Wan to kill Reva given the latter's troubled past remains to be seen. However, one thing Star Wars has certainly stressed, including in Obi-Wan Kenobi, is the importance of Luke and Leia remaining hidden.

Also, Reva still wants revenge on both Vader and the Grand Inquisitor, meaning she has many enemies going into the sixth and final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Despite a lot being revealed about Reva's character in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5, her motivations and where her loyalties lie remain a mystery. Obviously, she has a deep hatred for Vader, yet she isn't exactly friendly towards Obi-Wan either. Whether this means Reva will go against Obi-Wan, Vader, the Grand Inquisitor, or even all three during the final episode remains to be seen. However, it is clear that the odds are stacked against Reva's survival given both the context of the show and what is known about the Star Wars universe at large. While Reva is likely to be killed, only the highly-anticipated finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi will reveal how the ending of the Third Sister's journey plays out in the Star Wars franchise.
