Kody Brown from Sister Wives has been drawing a lot of reactions from fans, including a psychologist with a YouTube channel. Fans have been less than pleased with Kody, and how he runs his household. He is very serious about following COVID-19 protocols, and people who watch the series believe that he enforces pandemic-related rules without considering his family's needs.

Sister Wives first aired in 2010, and it's always featured the Browns. Kody is the series' patriarch, and he originally had four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown. He shares eighteen children with three current wives and his ex, Christine. Kody has never really been a fan favorite, compared to some other stars of the show. His recent actions have sparked even more criticism from the series' loyal viewers. He can't seem to understand why he's getting backlash for his actions, but it may his incessant need for absolute control.

Kody has never been a fan favorite, due to his personality in general, which is widely perceived as narcissistic. He has strong views that have annoyed other Sister Wives cast members and fans. A YouTuber, who is also a psychologist, has been informally analyzing his personality via his channel, Pop Psych. The YouTuber started with Kody's reaction to the news that Christine was leaving him. Kody did not seem upset that she had fled, and would no longer be a part of his life. Instead, he appeared worried about his own image. He was primarily concerned with the fact that Christine leaving him would make him look bad in front of other wives. For example, he found it difficult to understand why she would want to end their relationship, just because it was bad. After all, he has a troubled relationship with at least one other wife, Meri, who has stayed with him.

He also called out Kody for his very lazy parenting, including his decision to hire a nanny to help him and Robyn with childcare, and barely spending time with his other children. In a Reddit thread started by u/EarlyEscape, to discuss the YouTube video, fans noted that the psychologist called Kody "exceptionally immature". Sister Wives viewers believe that this is true, especially in light of the way that he handled an issue with Garrison Brown. When they disagreed, instead of handling it in a mature, typically parental fashion, he was very reactive, and the argument became a fight. Fans don't think that Kody is emotionally available to his family, and they feel that he isn't even trying. He's open about saying that he does not have time to spend with Christine's kids.

Sister Wives fans have been nothing but proud of Christine. They love the way that she boldly ended her relationship with Kody, and moved away with her kids. Fans are hoping that this will be the beginning of a chain reaction, which will make Kody change his ways, even though they know it's highly unlikely. A more probable outcome is other Sister Wives finding the courage to leave Kody, because they don't believe that they're being treated well.
