One of the keys to the success of the Jackass franchise has been Bam Margera’s contributions, but how much does the skateboarder appear in Jackass Forever? Though Margera was fired from the cast of the movie, he does show up in the movie for a brief time. Regardless of his screen time, Margera’s influence on Jackass Forever is apparent, even noticeable in scenes without him.

Bam Margera was recruited to the original Jackass series cast from his former group CKY, a skateboarding stunt team that produced prank-based videos. Throughout Margera’s time with Jackass, he devised many stunts, pranks, and comedy sketches, eventually gaining his own spin-off MTV series, Viva La Bam. Unfortunately, over his death-defying career, Margera developed a troubling case of alcoholism. His most recent relapse caused Jackass’s producing company Paramount to fire Margera from Jackass Forever’s lineup, considering his conduct and actions a breach of contract.

Despite this, Margera does still appear in Jackass Forever, albeit for one single scene. Though the daredevil skateboarder did film more content for the movie, all but one of Margera’s stunts has been removed, much to his chagrin. Hopefully, the stunt Margera is present for does the skateboarder justice, both in the eyes of audiences and to Margera himself. Bam Margera’s name does still appear in the credits to Jackass Forever, a telling gesture. Jackass frontman Johnny Knoxville and the movie’s creators still think of Margera as an integral member of their team, worthy of the credit he deserves.

Margera is involved in Jackass Forever in ways beyond his single scene, as the skateboarder was responsible for more than just his own stunts. Just as in the previous installments in the Jackass franchise, Margera wrote and created a variety of the stunt-filled scenes seen in Jackass Forever. While the inclusion of these stunts may have been intended to maintain Margera’s influence in the film, Margera instead was insulted, perceiving the move as stealing his ideas. Margera’s ongoing lawsuit against Paramount intends to reclaim the appropriate credit Margera believes he deserves for his involvement in the film.

The exclusion of Bam Margera from Jackass Forever has heavily impacted the final installment in the Jackass franchise. The controversy surrounding both Margera’s conduct and subsequent firing instills both discomfort and heightened interest in the skateboarder’s brief appearance in the film. Regardless of whether or not Bam Margera plays much of a large role in Jackass Forever, his interactions with the cast and company have created a truly dramatic end to Jackass.
