Robin Floating Away Was A Perfect Metaphor
There's one scene, in particular, that's always raised eyebrows due to how cheesy it comes across. Robin becomes the personification of a balloon Ted lost as a child, and "Eternal Flame" plays while Ted lets her go and watches her float away.
A Reddit thread points out that it was actually a perfect metaphor for the situation. Instead of letting go on accident like the first time, Ted let go on purpose. The scene was lame and cheesy, but it was fitting because so is Ted.
Robin Is A Terrible Girlfriend

A lot of the characters have made bad decisions in their relationships, and Robin is among them. One of her worst love life decisions included cheating on Kevin with Barney and staying with him despite her and Barney's plan to give things another shot.

It's no secret that a large majority of viewers hate the series finale of How I Met Your Mother. Barney and Robin divorce and Ted and Robin get back together after the titular mother character passes away years later. Barney and Robin shippers were heartbroken over the twist, but a fan explains why the ending was perfect.
Everything revolved around Ted and Robin's relationship since the pilot. It was a storyline the show never let go of, and there was clearly a reason. The blue french horn being used for the same purpose in the first and last episode is the definition of a full circle ending.
Robin's Hatred For Loretta Made No Sense
