The father and son have had a strained relationship since the patriarch implemented some strict COVID-19 rules. Hunter is getting back at his father, thanks to a little jab.
As Kody and Janelle Brown's third child, Hunter has seen a few things while growing up in a large polygamous family. Just like the rest of his siblings, Hunter is not interested in living a polygamous lifestyle. Instead, he has been concentrating on himself and working on his career. He recently graduated from the Air Force Academy, and decided to settle down in Arizona after buying his first home. Hunter has been outspoken about how his father let him down during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, and the two aren't exactly on speaking terms.
Viewers often find old scenes to mock, but this particular one with Hunter and Kody took the cake. The Redditor Susupiciousdrama shared a clip of Kody and Hunter talking about the global pandemic. They wrote, "Why do I think Hunter is hilarious in this scene 😅" The cameras caught Hunter looking less than impressed while his dad was gaslighting the family. Kody was claiming that the virus could change someone's personality, which seemed to be false information. Hunter, who may have done some reading of his own, chimed in, saying, "It's not gonna change who you are." Hunter proceeded to say that the virus is not like mental illness, essentially putting Kody on blast, and making him look like a clown.
Reddit users couldn't believe the scene, noting that Hunter has a bit more background since he is a nursing student. At one point in the series, Kody also revealed that he believes that hormones transfer from person to person, which is not a fact. In the eyes of Sister Wives fans, there was no doubt that Hunter made Kody look extremely foolish during the interaction. The squabble also showed that the father and son did not have the strongest relationship going into that particular conversation.
For multiple Sister Wives seasons, "bad dad" Kody has made it apparent to fans that he doesn't really care about his older children. He already tried kicking Hunter and his brother Gabe out for not agreeing with his rules. Kody also flat out refused to accompany Ysabel to New Jersey for her back surgery. He has yet to visit Maddie's children in North Carolina. Some fans think that Kody is once again being made to look silly, and fans are here for it.
