How To Get Away With Murder is a third of the way through the final season, and fans are trying to piece together who the show's final victim will be... if it's not Annalise, of course! As usual, season 6 takes place over two timelines, with most episodes including short flash-forwards to a future murder investigation. These give viewers tiny hints about who is dead, who is a suspect, and who is a survivor, but they refuse to give the game away upfront, leaving fans to put it together themselves. After episode 5, "We're All Gonna Die," here's what is known so far.

The most obvious choice is, of course, Annalise Keating herself. Shots of a funeral have been shown which include images of her photo with a funeral wreath around it. It seems clear that Annalise is the victim... but several aspects of this do not add up. The main issue is that it's simply too obvious; How To Get Away With Murder has never given the game away from the start, which is one of the things that makes it so watchable. Instead, it's likely that this funeral is something else - a plot, a fantasy, a vision, a play, etc. Even if Annalise is dead, it seems clear that she's not the only one, so who else is not going to make it to the finale?

One of the first things revealed was that the victim is an FBI informant, which is the other thing that discounts Annalise. The FBI were looking for people to inform on Annalise, not looking to work with her. The two people who have so far been shown to be in custody are Michaela and Connor, so neither of these is the victim themselves, and both are in graduation robes. Whoever died was killed with a poker, which has Michaela's fingerprints on it (although she was shown using it already this season for something else). When Connor was shown photos of the body, he started to laugh, and then seemingly had a heart attack, which leaves fans wondering what he found so funny... and suggests someone other than Oliver (although grief can appear in strange ways). Finally, in the most recent episode, Tegan was shown as alive, and it looks like the crime scene is in the hallway by Asher and Gabriel's apartments.

While there will undoubtedly be more clues to come (and more surprises ahead), the most likely casualties seem to be Gabriel and Asher at the moment. They are unaccounted for in the flash-forwards, both live by the crime scene, are both very clearly connected to Michaela, and both have the potential to be informants. Gabriel has already been a spy in Annalise's camp, he has her therapy tapes, he believes that she is responsible for him growing up without a father, and he's in conflict with multiple other characters. Asher is slightly less likely, but the arrival of his sister has seemed to be making him increasingly disillusioned with the group. However, he would also presumably be at the graduation ceremony when it all happened, not at home - whereas Gabriel is not in the same class as the rest of the group.

Other victim-shaped possibilities include Nate (an obvious choice), as the FBI are currently trying to get him to inform on Annalise, and he is increasingly suspicious and separated from the rest of the group. Frank is possible, as he is usually up to his neck in the Keating violence, and would not be at graduation. However, after his torture at the hands of the Castillos, it's not clear if he would even be able to walk up those stairs. The other major possibility is, of course, Laurel herself. Although she has yet to appear this season, there is nothing preventing her from returning to Wes' apartment, perhaps looking for something. She would not be at graduation, and has caused a lot of people to be very angry at her recently. All of this is still speculation, of course, and only time will tell - but presumably, as this is the final season, not too much more time!
