Mary Cosby has been one of the more controversial cast members on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. With her being the only First Lady among the premiere cast, it's worth taking a look into how she makes her money.

The church leader was hit with a bunch of fan questions at the RHOSLC reunion. Many viewers wanted to know more about her lifestyles and personal viewpoints after she rocked the show with her unconventional arranged marriage and alleged comments about Black people. During the reunion, she revealed her fear of people standing in front of convenience stores and explained her hatred for the smell of hospitals. She also was brought to tears while describing how "happy" she is in her 22-year marriage, while only crediting how much money her step-grandfather-turned-husband spends on her. The oddities surrounding her life have made her one of the most criticized housewives among the cast.

Considering the leaked audio she confessed to where she was heard yelling at her congregation for being "stingy" with their offerings, fans want to know how much Mary is actually worth. According to The Sun, Mary Cosby and Lisa Barlow top the list of wealthiest housewives on the show, with each having a net worth of $5 million. At the reunion, Andy Cohen did ask Mary if she affords her lavish lifestyle through church funds, which she denied. She acquired her wealth by way of marrying her late grandmother's second husband, Bishop Robert C. Cosby, and inheriting her fortune of businesses. A few restaurants went to her, as well as the role of First Lady within the family's church.

Mary denied taking money from the church and credited how small the church is with claims they couldn't help her fund her life of luxury. It's possible she garners most of her money from the other family businesses she inherited, like her grandmother's Southern Plantation restaurants that she left behind for Mary. She also owns her Mari Marta perfume line that she promotes on her social media and credits herself as an "Event Specialist" in her Instagram bio. However, while most housewives have photos or videos showing them in their places of work, Mary's Instagram photos highlight her fashionable looks and a few quotes.

It's understandable why some members of her church have questioned how she funds her lifestyle, and if it's through church tithes and offerings. However, Mary denies the claims and even shut down allegations of her church being called a cult. In the meantime, Mary is enjoying her million-dollar lifestyle.
