Mia Thornton is the newcomer on The Real Housewives of Potomac, and fans couldn't be happier with the new addition to the cast. Mia was brought on as a replacement to show alum Monique Samuels following her departure in season 5. With the Potomac ladies already having deep-rooted feuds among the remaining cast, Mia's already being forced to pick sides between the friend who introduced her and another show OG. Aside from the cast dynamic, Mia's bold, in-your-face attitude and love for plastic surgery have already won over viewers and have them ready for more.
Karen Huger was the one who introduced Mia to the group. Dubbing her a "real boss," viewers were quick to pick up on the possible shade Karen was throwing at Wendy Osefo after seemingly snubbing her in season 5. After attending Wendy's "Nude Interlude" party where she unveiled her new cosmetic enhancements, Mia stole the show by proudly professing all the work she has had done to her body. But after accusing Wendy of being insecure about her surgeries, the former and current newbies ignited a new feud. Wendy was already skeptical of Mia after noticing how she quickly defended Gizelle Bryant despite being friends with Gizelle's arch-enemy, Karen.
With only a few episodes into the season, Mia has already proven that she was the perfect replacement for Monique. One fan recently took to Reddit to applaud Mia for being "an amazing new addition to Potomac." According to the Redditor, Mia checks off all the boxes of must-have characteristics for a full-time housewife. "Mia is very feminine, very girly but she's also quite tough and people underestimate her," the fan said. They went on to credit Monique for being "a tough act to follow" but said that if Mia keeps bringing the vibrant energy she did in episodes 1 and 2, "she might end up being my 2nd favorite after Queen Karen."
Considering Karen is the one who introduced Mia to the bunch, it's likely the two mavens are friends for a reason. Mia could be the saving grace the show needs following a drama-filled season 5 that had Monique and Candiace Dillard taking legal action. Mia has already mustered up a feud of her own with Wendy, which viewers think will add to their overall enjoyment of the show. "I think that Mia is an excellent foil to Wendy, and I think it was a great casting decision to cast someone who would naturally clash with the next newest cast member so that Mia doesn't have to clash with an OG right off the bat," one person said.

The show is still one of the newer Housewives franchises with only six seasons so far. The franchise has yet to receive complaints of being boring like some of the older Housewives shows. It looks like Mia is helping the Potomac ladies continue to reign supreme in being some of the top drama queens in the Housewives universe.
