Karen Huger from The Real Housewives of Potomac is not taking sides in the Candiace Dillard Bassett and Monique Samuels fight.
RHOP is fairly new to the housewives scene, but the ladies on this show have made quite the name for themselves. Karen, alongside her fellow castmates, Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Ashley Darby, have all been on the show since season one. Many other ladies have come and gone and created a series that has skyrocketed the women to fame.
On the October 25 episode of RHOP, Karen slammed Candiace for forcing her to choose between Candiace and Monique in the physical altercation. "I'm a little upset that you continuously say I should be against Monique," the 57-year-old told Candiace. The 33 year old quickly replied back to Karen, saying, "I need to hear from you that you understand what Monique did was wrong." Earlier in the season, Candiace and Monique got into a physical altercation where Monique reportedly hit Candiace on the head several times. Karen continued, "You want me to choose a side and to totally abandon Monique, and I'm not going to do that for you." Karen is close to Monique and does not want to end the friendship over this fight. Candiace and newcomer, Dr. Wendy Osefo, do not want Karen to abandon Monique, but they do want her to hold Monique accountable for her actions.
The conversation with Karen happened after it was revealed that Candiace pressed charges against Monique for the fight. At Wendy's daughter's sip and see, Gizelle confronted Candiace about the legal action. Gizelle asked her, "How are you feeling?" Candiace replied, "I'm stressed. I only recently decided to file charges, and it was everywhere in five minutes. I wasn't expecting it to happen that fast." Robyn did ask Candiace if jail time is the goal for Monique, and Candiace said it is up to the court system to decide on that. The ladies then asked Karen if she has spoken to Monique recently about the situation. Karen told the women, "I [told] her, Candiace is hurting. I said, just text her and send her something to say I'm sorry because [Candiace] didn't deserve that." Even though Karen is there for Monique, she realizes what she did was not acceptable and Candiace deserves an apology.
While what Monique did to Candiace was unacceptable, she does not deserve to be put in jail for a fight Candiace provoked. Hopefully, these two can come together and bury the hatchet sometime in the future.
