Kelly Dodd and Rick Leventhal of The Real Housewives of Orange County have finally said their "I do's" during an intimate wedding ceremony in Napa, California. The couple exchanged their vows after receiving their marriage license last month.
Dodd, 44, and Leventhal, 60, took some time off from the drama to celebrate their love. The couple is no stranger to controversy. Leventhal works as a Fox News commentator and proudly boasts his conservative views on the outlet. Dodd is similar to her husband in political views and often ruffles the feathers of Real Housewives fans by expressing her controversial opinions. During her bridal shower, Dodd faced backlash after she posted a photo wearing a hat that read "Drunk Wives Matter." She apologized after being called out for the insensitivity surrounding the slogan's likeness to the Black Lives Matter movement. The hat scandal came one month after she expressed her belief that the "pandemic is over." Earlier this year, Dodd was highly criticized for comparing the coronavirus to the flu.
The couple was able to push all the drama aside and celebrate their special day. The two wed in the wine country of Napa and wore all black while their guests wore all white. Dodd carried a beautiful white bouquet to compliment her black wedding gown. Leventhal looked very dapper in his black tuxedo. “I’m so excited to be Mrs. Leventhal," Dodd captioned her wedding post on Instagram. Her husband followed up her post with one of his own. “With the incredible Mrs. Kelly Leventhal #10/10/2020 #grateful #rick&kelly," he captioned his celebratory post. Other photos Dodd shared showed that all of their guests wore masks. Ahead of the wedding, Leventhal shared a photo of the custom-made face masks they had made for their guests. “Custom masks courtesy @goldsheepclothing #kelly&rick #10/10/2020 #thankyou,” he captioned the post.
The couple began dating in August 2019 and were engaged by November. Leventhal proposed to Dodd with a whopping four-carat diamond ring. Despite their 16-year age gap, the couple has been inseparable since they made it official. This isn't the first marriage for either Dodd or Leventhal. The two are both divorcees who were looking for love when they hit it off last year.
While many fans have wanted Dodd removed from RHOC, her contract was renewed for another season. There's no word on whether cameras were filming the outdoor wedding. But considering her casting next season, viewers will expect to see some footage from their special day.
