Kelly Dodd from The Real Housewives of Orange County has been open about her skepticism regarding the coronavirus pandemic, even going so far as to declare the pandemic over. After her controversial comments, Kelly's mother has now been hospitalized with COVID-19. Kelly has not spoken out about the hospitalization, and fans are waiting for an update.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star has always made it perfectly clear where she stands on almost any issue. She has made a name for herself by bullying the other women and hitting them below the belt. Fans will recall Kelly's mother used to live with her before the two had their unfortunate falling out. Now, they have started to get back on the right track.

Fans have now learned from Kelly Dodd’s brother, Eric Meza, that their mother has contracted the virus (via Us Weekly). In a short post on his private Instagram, Eric wrote, Prayers 🙏needed for my Mother. Thank You 🙏 ️ 💕 💗 She is in ICU. I have always said from the beginning. #wearamask 😷 #washyourdamnhands.” In another photo, he wrote, "Prayers for my mother. She has COVID19.” While her brother seems to understand the gravity of the situation, Kelly has been very outspoken when it comes to denying the worldwide pandemic, even saying that it was just “God’s way of thinning the herd.” Fans are curious to see how seriously she takes COVID-19 now that it is in her own backyard.

Kelly has been criticized by fans of the franchise for her behavior amid the pandemic, and many Bravo viewers are finding it hard to sympathize with her. After announcing his mother's illness, Eric shared a picture with her in the hospital, but quickly deleted it. Then, the situation got even more dramatic when Kelly commented on her brother's post. "Mom has me blocked! Jr said she’s not in ICU,” Kelly said, referencing her other brother, JR Meza. The comment was also deleted. Fans wasted no time in calling out the housewife for her elitist attitude. On wrote, "If non-essential workers keep traveling back and forth like you, it will last longer,”  to which the reality star only replied, “'If it’s dangerous why are the airlines still flying?”

Many fans are hoping the Bravo personality will take the pandemic a bit more seriously in the coming months, but aren’t holding their breath. Kelly has been at the center of negative press for quite some time, including when she wore a "Drunk Wives Matter" hat during her bachelorette party to mock the Black Lives Matter Movement. While fans aren't optimistic that Kelly will change her controversial views anytime soon, they are hoping her mother will make a swift recovery.
