Eboni K. Williams has made a name for herself as the politically astute cast member of The Real Housewives of New York, but before that, she was an anchor on Fox News. As clothing line owner Sonja Morgan put it, Eboni's "mission" is to share her progressive point of view with those around her. So, fans have been confused about the new RHONY star's history with the conservative news outlet. From the beginning of her career at Fox News to the comments she made about the network after quitting, here's everything about Eboni's past at Fox.

It's only Eboni's first season on The Real Housewives of New York, but she's already ruffling some of her co-stars' feathers. Specifically, Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps have a bone to pick with Eboni. Both Ramona and Luann have expressed that they think Eboni is "preachy" and accusatory. On her debut episodes as a reality TV personality, Eboni made a point of educating the other women about her experience as a Black woman. While housewives like Sonja and Married to the Mob owner Leah McSweeney have supported Eboni's efforts to start uncomfortable conversations about race and politics within the group, Ramona and Luann have been resistant. Some RHONY viewers have also felt as though Eboni is dragging the show's entertainment value down with all of her political talks. While it might appear contradictory, Eboni's past at Fox News helps explain the new housewives' experience on the show.

Before Eboni started on Fox News, she worked in family law and civil litigation in 2008. Eboni went on to represent clients who were involved in extreme cases like homicide, drug, and federal offenses. Eboni then worked as a correspondent on CBS News and a contributor for Fox News. At Fox, Eboni made appearances on The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity, a show infamous for its tone-deaf Caitlyn Jenner interview. Eboni also landed a gig as a co-host on two Fox talk shows, Outnumbered and The Five. On May 1, 2017, Eboni started working as a co-host on Fox News Specialists, a show that was created after Bill O'Reilly's forced exit from Fox. Unfortunately for Eboni, Fox News Specialists was canceled after her co-host, Eric Bolling, left Fox due to sexual harassment allegations. At the end of 2018, Eboni decided to leave Fox News for good.

Because of Fox News' reputation as a conservative, pro-Donald Trump news outlet, Eboni's viewers were understandably confused by her career at the network. After leaving, Eboni clarified her motivation for working at Fox. Eboni said that working at the conservative network was not easy. "It was... challenging," Eboni admitted in a March 2019 interview with Her AgendaBut as Eboni demonstrated in her big fight with Ramona on RHONY, she can handle challenging situations. Eboni went on to explain that she "did not walk into Fox News to be comfortable." Instead, Eboni asserted that she worked at the conservative new corporation "to disrupt." Ultimately, Eboni's mission to intercept the traditional routine of Fox left her feeling “very lonely and isolated.”

Although RHONY fans are justified in their reservations about Eboni's experience at Fox, she has not tried to hide her past at the news network. According to the anti-Trump reality star, her career as a co-host at Fox was to add a new perspective to the news channel's generally repetitive dialogue. Hopefully, The Real Housewives of New York will serve as a better platform for Eboni to "disrupt."
