Since the beginning days of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice has been a favorite amongst fans of the show. Teresa has been part of the show since season one, and viewers have seen her through the many ups and downs of life. During the first few seasons, Teresa was often the center of the drama. If she wasn't flipping a table on Danielle Staub, she was in a screaming match with her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga. Since then, Teresa has cooled down on the drama, for now.
Besides her fights with Melissa and Danielle, Teresa also had a falling out with her fellow season one castmates, Jacqueline Laurita and Caroline Manzo. The fight between Teresa, Jacqueline, and Caroline came to a head after Jacqueline brought up the rumors about Teresa's now-ex-husband Joe Giudice cheating on her. They also fought over Teresa not being honest about whether or not she was going to jail. Not only were her fights entertaining, but fans also had a soft spot for Teresa after she returned home from prison. Shortly after her return, she lost her mother, and her father passed away a few years later. Teresa knows how to keep the drama going while also playing the sympathy card.
Teresa became a fan favorite during the beginning of RHONJ due to her many endearing qualities. According to some viewers on Reddit, during the 48-year-old's first few seasons, they found her stupidity to be charming, her struggle with the English language hilarious, and they even looked at her husband as a "cartoon character." Viewers noticed this New Jersey native brought the show some comedic relief. As the series progressed through the years, Teresa even got the fans on her side during her ongoing feud with Melissa and Joe Gorga. Everyone felt sorry for Teresa after rumors of Joe Giudice's affair and her impending jail sentence emerged. After she and Joe were sentenced to a certain amount of years behind bars, Bravo decided to put RHONJ on pause.
After season six aired in 2014, RHONJ was off the air for a whole two years. Bravo filmed a short series called Teresa Checks In, a three-part special that chronicled the life of Joe and their four daughters and how they have been dealing with the aftermath of their mother's sentencing. After Teresa returned for season seven, the series started to revolve solely on her and how her life had endured so much tragedy over the last couple of years. Viewers began to feel bad for the mother of four and gave her a pass even when she would do or say something wrong. However, in the last couple of seasons, viewers have started to turn on Teresa. Her inability to say she is sorry or admit she is wrong is starting to turn the audience against her. However, seeing as she is the reason for most of the storylines on the show, Bravo will never replace her.
No matter what Teresa does, fans will always have a special place in their heart for the OG of New Jersey. She has given RHONJ many iconic moments, such as the table flip, calling Melissa a stripper, and her many unforgettable one-liners. Even when Teresa is totally in the wrong, fans of RHONJ would never want Teresa to leave the show. She is continually stirring the pot and not afraid to get into the drama, as a true Housewife should.
