After recently shutting down divorce rumors plaguing her 25-year marriage, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards opened up about how she and husband Mauricio Umansky learned of the salacious claims. This comes after a blind item report recently placed her at the center of non-credible hearsay.
Kyle and Mauricio have maintained a solid relationship since they wed in 1996. The couple shares three daughters together: Alexia, 24, Sophia, 20, and Portia, 12, in addition to Kyle's eldest daughter Farrah, 32, from a previous marriage. There has been only one instance in the past where their marriage was questioned. Kyle defended her marriage and confronted former housewife Lisa Vanderpump after she jokingly brought up a rumor about Mauricio having an affair with a younger woman. Now, years later, Kyle is revealing how she learned of the latest set of rumors about trouble in her relationship with Mauricio.
Earlier this month, there was a blind item rumor going around that a west coast Real Housewives star secretly separated from her husband and was enjoying a “hot girl summer” while focusing on her kids. While it never named who the rumor was about, Kyle recently shared how she learned the claims were being attributed to her. “We posted a picture in Aspen together and somebody wrote in the comments, ‘I’m so glad to see all the rumors aren’t true," Kyle recalled to Us Weekly on October 22. "And [Mauricio] looked at me and he said, ‘What are they talking [about in] this comment?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know. Let’s Google.’"
The Bravolebrity added how, by the time she and her husband realized the speculation about their relationship, the rumors had already spiraled out of control. "We were like, ‘What?’ And then, like, a week later, people were texting me [and saying], ‘I hope everything’s OK. I was like, ‘Oh, my God,'” she said. As an original RHOBH cast member, Kyle has seen her fair share of scandal on the show. She, along with Erika Jayne, Garcelle Beauvais, Lisa Rinna, and Dorit Kemsley are set to return next season after Denise Richards made her exit and Teddi Mellencamp was fired.
When it comes to how she feels about all the talk surrounding her marriage, Kyle said, “It used to get me so upset when lies were out there about me. I’m gonna get myself so worked up and so emotional. And now, I really just like — oh, my God. I can’t believe it." Kyle's oldest sister Kathy Hilton is rumored to be joining her next season, so at least she'll have some extra support if the rumor mill continues to target her.
