Leave it up to Teresa Giudice to help kick season 11 off with a bang following her verbal catfight with Jackie Goldschneider. The Real Housewives of New Jersey fans have mixed reactions to Jackie's shocking allegations about Teresa's 19-year-old daughter, Gia Giudice.
During the season 11 premiere, fans watched as Teresa spread a rumor about Jackie's husband, Evan Goldschneider, allegedly cheating on his wife when he goes to the gym. Despite how baseless Teresa's claims were, she continued to parade around the party asking their friends if they heard that Evan "does stuff at the gym." With Jackie not catching wind of the salacious claims until after the party was over, she called Teresa up to schedule a meeting where they could discuss the comments made at the event. But things got heated during the exchange after Teresa refused to tell Jackie who told her the lies about her husband. As a result, Jackie insinuated that she heard rumors about Gia doing coke in the bathroom at parties, and Teresa went off the rails.
After the shocking scene aired, Jackie took to Twitter to share the "analogy" she made about Teresa's daughter. "My analogy about Gia was simply an analogy – there was no truth to it of course,” Jackie tweeted. “The rest of the cast understood this, which you’ll see in the coming weeks. The behavior at my husband’s birthday party is truly unfortunate – destroying a marriage and family is not entertainment.” But fan reactions were split as some called Jackie out for going "below the belt," while others felt Teresa is "just jealous of your marriage" considering her divorced status.
One fan replied saying, "Your 'analogy' was wrong and sick!" "SHAMEFUL! Never bring up a child in an analogy," another fan quipped. But there were still others who felt Teresa was in the wrong for spreading rumors about Evan. "That would require Teresa to have intelligence to understand what an analogy is," the fan said. "You are not wrong in this at all. Stay strong," they added. Another viewer shared the same sentiments. "You can't use analogies when talking with Teresa," they explained. "They are always going to be way over her head. Less is more with Tre."
The mixed reactions from fans show how locked in the New Jersey housewives already have their viewers after just one episode.
