Kim Richards and Brandi Glanville have had one of the most surprising friendships in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills history, and the newest twist in the duo's relationship is that they're not talking to each other. During the low times of Kim and Kyle Richards' rocky relationship, Brandi proved herself to be a reliable shoulder to cry on. The pair of underdogs have remained close since the beginning of their kinship, but here's why the friends aren't talking anymore.
Brandi and Kim started on the wrong foot, literally. The beginning of the duo's friendship was full of volatile arguments and shocking accusations. One of the first group events Brandi attended during her career on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was Dana "Pam" Wilkey's game night. Brandi showed up already feeling out of place and her broken foot didn't make matters any better. At the time, Brandi's only real friend among the cast of Beverly Hills women was original cast member Adrienne Maloof, who had to bail on the game night without warning Brandi. Kim and Kyle arrived at Dana's party already wary of the new housewife on the block. From Kim hiding Brandi's crutches to Brandi accusing Kim of doing "crystal meth in the bathroom all night long," the night went as poorly as can be expected.
Fortunately, Kim and Brandi's friendship didn't have anywhere to go but up. Kim's relationship with her sister Kyle underwent some difficulties throughout the siblings' five seasons as fellow castmates. Soon enough, Brandi and Kim started to become best friends, and Brandi even asserted that she was more supportive of Kim than Kyle was. Although their friendship has been the source of plenty of drama within the group, Kim and Brandi's bond has demonstrated itself to be one of the long-lasting friendships on the show. Even as the sun set on the once-great friendship between Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump, Brandi and Kim remained close. Brandi and Kim exhibited that their relationship was still going strong on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 10 when Kim supported Brandi's assertion that she had a sexual history with Denise Richards.
Recently, however, it appears as though Brandi and Kim have hit a bump in the road. On August 17, Brandi appeared on Bravo's Chat Room, where she revealed she and Kim aren't talking "at the moment." Brandi revealed to Chat Room hosts Gizelle Bryant and Porsha Williams that the pair of friends got into "a hot tub fight" that Brandi claimed was worthy of airing on reality TV. When asked to explain what happened further, Brandi clarified that "[Kim] was drowning me. But, we were having fun." According to ET, Kim also stopped talking to Brandi in the past after her joke about the Denise Richards drama rubbed the Witch Mountain actress the wrong way. Additionally, a source claimed Kim wouldn't have actually been able to drown Brandi because the hot tub was "only filled with about 2 feet of water."
Brandi and Kim have one of the strongest friendships of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills franchise, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. Although a dramatic hot tub fight left the pair of best friends in a bad place, Brandi remains confident that the two will repair their relationship soon. Hopefully, Brandi and Kim will salvage one of the longest-lasting Real Housewives of Beverly Hills friendships and stay away from hot tubs in the meantime.
