Warning: This list includes spoilers for House of the Dragon. After the explosive fifth episode, House of the Dragon will go through another time jump. This will be a far more significant jump, propelling the audiences further into the future and aging several characters.

Not only will Viserys' infant children be more grown, but Rhaenyra Targaryen will no longer be a teenager. This time jump means that Milly Alcock will no longer be playing the character, with Emma D'Arcy taking over the role as an older version of Rhaenyra. Though she will no longer play the part, Alcock had several powerful lines throughout her time as the princess.

"I'd Rather Serve As A Knight."

Her Discomfort With Child Birth

House of the Dragon Rhaenyra

One similarity between Rhaenyra and Daenerys Targaryen is their interest in participating in the action. While neither of them is seen wielding a weapon and engaging in hand-to-hand combat, they're both riding into danger on the back of a dragon.

In the first episode, Queen Aemma tells her daughter the birthing bed is their battlefield. This quote is how Rhaenyra responds to her mother's remark. She has no interest in following the traditional standards pushed on women and yearns to follow her own path.

"Without Them, We're Just Like Everyone Else."

Her View Of Dragons

One clear trait of King Viserys is his love for his daughter, Rhaenyra. Despite his frustrations with her throughout the first half of the season, he proves this in the way he can talk with her privately about serious matters.

When Rhaenyra says this to her father, she makes it clear how much respect she has for the dragons that have made her line so powerful. She proves to her father that she is humble in her views of the Targaryen house and therefore proves she'll be a thoughtful ruler.

"[Syrax Is] Quite Protective Of Me."

Puts Otto In His Place

Rhaenyra and Daemon in House of the Dragon Episode 3

Rhaenyra respects her father as king, but she repeatedly makes it a point that she doesn't take orders from others within the court. When she shows up to help get the dragon egg back from Daemon, she dismisses Otto when he tries to get her to leave with guards.

She says this, warning the guards under Otto's control that they shouldn't do anything too rash because her dragon, Syrax, is there to defend her. While the previous line proves she respects dragons, she also realizes the dragons put her in a position of power.

"As I Am Ceaselessly Reminded."

Sasses Her Father

Rhaenyra displays her power in the court in some obvious ways, but she also reminds the audience that she is still a teenager. As a teenager, she is often seen quarreling with her father and fighting back against his decisions for her lifestyle.

When they're headed to the hunt in episode three and Viserys is reminding the princess she has duties, she snaps at him, saying this. She may recognize she has princess duties, but she clearly grows tired of being reminded of them.

"None Of Them Has Ever Held My Position."

Her Duties As Princess

Rhaenyra knows that she comes from a position of extreme privilege, but she often considers it more of a burden. As a princess, she has access to many things others do not, but also has a lot of responsibility for a young woman.

When Ser Criston points out that many others would want to be in her position, she makes this remark. She seems to be less aware at this point that she comes from a position of luxury compared to the common people. However, she also realizes others see more glamour in her life than is the reality.

"I Won't Subject Myself To The Same Fate."

Views On Her Mother's Death

The death of her mother while in childbirth impacted Rhaenyra's views on having children. Before her mother's death, Rhaenyra didn't care for the idea, but afterward, she expresses fear of it.

When she and Daemon are talking about marriage, she says this, expressing her desire to avoid childbirth and the risks that come with it. Though the novels prove that Rhaenyra does end up having children with both of her spouses, this proves that she understands the risks of having children and doesn't agree with the pressure on women to provide heirs.

"So You Are Accusing Me Of Slanders You Overheard?"

Her Play On Words

It has been made clear that Rhaenyra has an attraction to her uncle, Daemon. In the episode four, they have a sexual experience in a brothel but do not actually have intercourse. Though this might have been for the best, it clearly upset Rhaenyra when he ran off and left her alone.

When Rhaenyra is confronted by Alicent about her and Deamon, she doesn't lie about the encounter but walks around the truth to avoid admitting to wrongdoing. She also proves she can easily use her wit to turn the tables, saying this line after Alicent admits she has no actual proof to support her accusations.

"Each Of Us Dine As We See Fit."

Her And Laenor's Agreement

Laenor and Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon

One thing book fans know about Rhaenyra is that she marries twice. However, at this point in the series, she's just married Laenor Velaryon. It's clear that these two, though married, do not love each other, but rather respect each other.

Despite her father forcing her to finally marry, Rhaenyra doesn't want to stop her affair with Ser Criston or deny her sexual appetites. Knowing that Laenor has a male lover, she says this line to prove that she understands his sexuality and wants them to respect each other's separate desires once they're married.

"You Must First Do Yours As King."

She Gets Otto Fired

When Viserys is telling Rhaenyra she needs to marry now and take responsibility for her duties as princess, she in turn points out he needs to do his duties as king first. She points out that Otto as Hand of the King is problematic because he's too focused on his own power.

The most problematic trait of Otto Hightower is his cunning and domineering personality. Though it works for him for years, this leads to his position being taken away. Rhaenyra proved she has power over her father's decisions when she convinces him to remove this well-respected man from his position of power.

"The Iron Throne Looms Larger Than Me."

Respect For Her Position

One of the most heartbreaking moments of episode five is when Criston asks Rhaenyra to run away with him, and she denies him. However, this proves that the princess understands that her duties as heir are more important than her desires.

It's unlikely Rhaenyra would have gone with Criston even if she wanted to because she repeatedly emphasized her desire to be queen and lead her people. By choosing her

kingdom over an easygoing lifestyle, she is respecting the history of her house.
