The long-awaited finale of House of The Dragon has truly set the Dance of the Dragons in motion, and fans can't wait to indulge in season 2 to see how Rhaenyra avenges Lucerys. This could take a while, so binging on this riveting season is a great option while waiting for the next chapter. House of The Dragon was packed with a host of hidden details in every frame and storyline, which viewers would probably miss after at first glance.

There were callbacks to its predecessor Game of Thrones, symbolism of bugs and creatures, Targaryen colors and subtle pointers towards different Houses' loyalties and histories which were concealed in the grandiose production and lore of House of The Dragon.

The Spiders, Worms, Bees And Rats

Larys Clubfoot Strong Petyr Littlefinger Baelish

These little creatures may seem insignificant, but they held much symbolism in the House of The Dragon universe, which otherwise also housed some of the coolest creatures. Mysaria became the White Worm, who had her network of spiders running around King's Landing, reminiscent of the wily Varys who could influence the kingdom considerably.

Larys, often compared to Littlefinger, also had a unique sigil of his own, which was the bee, different from the symbol of House Strong. Rats were seen in many frames, sipping on blood or on mantles. These could be foreshadowing certain upcoming characters and events in the novel, namely Blood and Cheese, and Mouse.

The Crabfeeder Had Greyscale

Craghas Drahar Crabfeeder

Much about Daemon Targaryen gets misunderstood, but his combat skills were never underestimated. He singlehandedly bested the Crabfeeder, but many viewers didn't realize that the Crabfeeder had Greyscale, hidden under his gold mask and armor.

This means that Daemon was potentially exposed to Greyscale, which fans of the franchise are well aware is fatal to the patient. This could be something that could hamper his strength in the future.

Daemon's Bond With Dragons

Daemon with Caraxes in House of the Dragon Episode 10 finale

Besides being an accomplished swordman, Daemon was also a fierce dragonrider. What some may have missed is how he bonded exceptionally well with all dragons, not just Caraxes, with whom his connection was almost telepathic.

The Rogue Prince was able to bring Syrax's clutch of eggs too, which was no easy task as was depicted on the show. During the finale, he set out to raise Vermithor, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen's fearsome, hundred-year-old dragon. Vermithor listened to his song but did not harm him, reflecting his affinity to the fiery creatures. Daemon had king like qualities, especially a Targaryen one.

Beesbury's Death Was Foreshadowed

Lyman Beesbury in House of the Dragon

A book retcon that really wasn't a retcon, Lord Beesbury's death was violent nonetheless. In a way, his death was a given, as was evident by his garb at the Small Council held after King Viserys' death.

While the rest of the council wore the greens that befitted the Hightowers and Alicent's favor, Lord Beesbury was the only member who had on black and red robes — the Targaryen colors associated with Rhaenyra and her cause. As the only Black among Greens, his fate was sealed.

The Candlelight Signal

House Of The Dragon Talya Game of Thrones Sansa Stark

Talya, Alicent's handmaiden, was a spy for the White Worm, and she flashed a signal which called back to Game of Thrones. Many viewers would have missed the subtle signal which she sent to the other spies in her network, which involved lighting a candle in the window.

Brienne of Tarth had asked Sansa to call for her help the same way — by lighting a candle in her window. The same secret communication was used by Talya to let the White Worm know that the King was dead.

Viserys' Crown

Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen in House of the Dragon episode 7

The reign of King Viserys was a peaceful one, and that reflected in the crown he wore during his time. The Targaryen crest was front and center, but the crests of the other Houses circled the entire crown, showing the harmony and union of the entire kingdom.

The sigils on the crown included Houses Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Tyrell, Tully, Martell, and Arryn. It was a great detail to add to Viserys' history, as his reign was one of true tranquility.

The Bells

The Smallfolk gathering in the Dragonpit

The bells of King's Landing were well-known for their symbolism, but they were harbingers of doom and bad tidings. These bells had rung in surrender when Daenerys Targaryen had come to King's Landing, but they had not deterred her from burning everything.

The same bells were seen ringing through the city for Viserys when his death was finally announced to the kingdom. They were not tolled often, but when they were, it was for a besieged city or the death of a monarch.

Viserys' Gold Dragons And Aegon's Sigil

Viserys House of the Dragon

When Viserys entered the throne room in episode 8 of House of The Dragon, he was seen wearing robes which had embellishments of golden dragons on them. While dragons are a usual symbol of finery for Targaryens, their golden color were a foreshadowing of Aegon's impending rule.

Aegon changed his sigil from the usual red dragons to golden dragons when he ascended the Iron Throne. Viserys' clothing was a prediction of what was to come.

The Significance Of The Seven Pointed Star

The Greens of House of the Dragon, Aegon, Aemond, Helaena, Alicent, and Otto.

Daemon remarks that the heraldry of the entire castle had been changed to seven pointed stars, which were the emblems of the Seven. The Targaryens followed the Valyrian religion, while the Hightowers followed the Faith of the Seven, which was headquartered in Oldtown, the home of the Hightowers.

It made sense that they extolled the Faith, and that the Maesters were loyal to the Hightowers, because their coin funded the religion. Thus, it was installed all over the castle walls.

Lucerys' Pink Dread Dig at Aemond

House Of The Dragon Aemond Targaryen Pig Lucerys Velaryon

The cruel joke that Aegon and Lucerys played on Aemond with the winged pig continued into episode 8, where the boys had a roast pig placed in front of Aemond to remind him of the Pink Dread even when they were grown up.

The moment was fleeting, but Aemond definitely registered the barb, which was probably what led to his divisive speech at the dinner table after Viserys retired to bed
