Ridley Scott’s latest project is House of Gucci, starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, and here’s everything you need to know about it. Ridley Scott is one of the most respected filmmakers in the industry thanks to his work in movies like the sci-fi classics Alien and Blade Runner, the buddy road movie Thelma & Louise, the historical drama Gladiator, and the crime movie American Gangster, which have made him a favorite of the audience. Although he has mostly stayed in the realms of action and crime, he’s exploring a new side of this with the biographical crime movie House of Gucci.

The project has been in development for years and went through many changes since it was announced back in 2006, and at the time, Scott was set to direct, and Angelina Jolie and Leonardo DiCaprio were rumored to be the chosen ones to play Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, respectively. In 2012, Scott was replaced by his daughter, Jordan Scott, and Penélope Cruz was said to be in talks to play Reggiani. House of Gucci went through more changes in 2016 with Wong Kar-Wai taking over and Margot Robbie in consideration to play Reggiani, but in 2019, the project went back to Ridley Scott’s hands and Lady Gaga was officially announced as the star, with Adam Driver joining a few months later as Maurizio Gucci.
