After House of Gucci’s theatrical release, when will it be made available for streaming? Directed by Ridley Scott, House of Gucci is a biographical drama centered around the famed Gucci dynasty. Based on Sara Gay Forden’s incredibly detailed book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, the film House of Gucci follows Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) as she marries into the family and succumbs to her ambition to control the fashion brand. This fight for power leads to a scandalous family feud and her husband Maurizio’s (Adam Driver) murder.

The House of Gucci went through numerous production issues before being released. In as early as 2006, Scott already had the rights to Forden’s book and was already set to direct its onscreen adaptation. Various actors were rumored to star in the film, including Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Penélope Cruz, and Margot Robbie. Meanwhile, the Guccis were vehemently against the idea, protesting their privacy and reputation. Over the years, as the House of Gucci was finally developed with the help of the fashion house’s archives, the family’s stand remained the same. Patrizia Reggiani even went on the record, stating how annoyed she was that Lady Gaga did not meet with her regarding the role — which is directly contrasting her earlier expression of admiration and delight for the singer-actress. Despite all these snags, the House of Gucci is finally ready for release, but when will it be available online?

Two weeks after its world premiere at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, House of Gucci, which features Jared Leto in a drastic physical transformation, is theatrically released in the US on November 24 and in the UK on November 26. Because House of Gucci is produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, after the film’s exclusive theatrical run of at least 45 days, it will be available to stream on Epix, the MGM-owned cable channel. In that case, House of Gucci will possibly be available for streaming starting January 8, 2022.

Moreover, due to Epix and Paramount Pictures’ expansion agreement, the theatrical films licensed for streaming on Epix will also be released on Paramount+, ViacomCBS’ streaming service. Following the exclusive 90-day pay window with Epix, House of Gucci will simultaneously be available on Paramount+. The Lady Gaga-led flick will probably be on the latter beginning April 8, 2022. Fortunately, Paramount+ offers a free seven-day trial, so more people can watch its thousands of film offerings. This Epix-Paramount+ arrangement also includes No Time to Die, the box-office record-breaking Bond installment, and Creed III, Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming directorial debut.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, most films are now expected to be released immediately on streaming services. This is especially necessary since not all viewers already feel secure in or have easy access to theaters at the time. The House of Gucci is no exception, particularly with all the controversy surrounding the film and praises directed at the cast’s performance.
