House renovation video game House Flipper, developed and published by indie company Frozen District, is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 25 and 26, respectively. The simulator game has been well-received on Steam since it first released in 2018. In the game, players buy virtual fixer-uppers, tear them apart, and then upgrade them for sale at a profit. While managing their budget and improving their skills, players can have fun with interior design, engineering, and any other aspect of house renovation that appeals to them — all without having to tear up their homes in real life.

House Flipper has also spawned the DLC Garden Flipper, which takes the renovation action outdoors with trees, bushes, flowers, and more than 500 unique items, from barbecues to patio furniture. Fans of the game also await the upcoming VR experience and a Discovery HGTV DLC, which will make the experience feel even more like HGTV house renovation shows — including the stress of pleasing demanding clients and the excitement of making the big makeover reveal. Steam currently sells the game in bundles with other simulation games, such as Car Mechanic Simulator and Cooking Simulator, for those who love their virtual lives.

Console gamers who've been missing out on that house renovation action can finally celebrate, as House Flipper will be available on PS4 on February 25 and Xbox One on February 26. The trailer from Frozen District (via Destructoid) emphasizes its popularity on PC, as well as fans who have been asking for it to come to consoles via social media. House Flipper could be a dream game for HGTV fans, especially those who haven't checked it out before. Check out the video announcing the game's console release dates below:

Given House Flipper's "Very Positive" ratings on Steam, it's no surprise gamers are excited this simulator is coming to consoles. The wide variety of simulation games out there gives them broad appeal. Considering the popularity of house renovation shows like HGTV's Fixer Upper and Property BrothersHouse Flipper is likely to find a hungry audience on console. Hopefully, the game will attract some new fans in addition to the ones who already love it.

Even in houses where only one or two family members are the primary gamers, House Flipper is one of those titles that can bring everyone together. It's a game built around common interests that isn't too intimidating to the non-gamer. From the comfort of their couches, players can test out designs and play structural engineer, with virtual power tools to boot. The test will be seeing if everyone can agree on a paint color, kitchen back splash, and what to do with the basement when the game hits consoles.

House Flipper comes out on PlayStation 4 on February 25 and Xbox One on February 26.
