Warning! This article contains spoilers for House of the Dragon and Fire & Blood.House of the Dragon promises a huge finale for the series, with the trailer for episode 10 hinting at all the possible storylines going into the end of season 1 and beyond. House of the Dragon episode 9 was a rare bottle episode, taking place entirely within the walls of Kings Landing after the death of King Viserys. Aptly titled "The Green Council," the penultimate season 1 episode focused entirely on Alicent, Otto, and their allies in Kings Landing recognizing Aegon as heir to the Iron Throne rather than Rhaenyra.

Naturally, this will not go down well with the black faction of Rhaenyra and Daemon, with House of the Dragon episode 10 promising retaliation over the greens' actions. The trailer for the House of the Dragon season 1 finale suggests a lot in terms of continuing the story of the show and adapting more elements from the Game of Thrones spinoff book Fire & Blood. From the beginning of the blacks' plans for retribution to dragon taming, here is every hint for House of the Dragon episode 10 from the trailer.

Rhaenys Warns Rhaenyra And Daemon

Rhaenyra and Daemon talking to Rhaenys

The ending of House of the Dragon episode 9 saw Princess Rhaenys Targaryen escaping the clutches of the greens. Shortly after Viserys's death, Rhaenys was placed under house arrest until she swore fealty to Aegon. However, with the help of Ser Erryk Cargyll, she escaped to the Dragon Pit. There, she mounted her dragon, Meleys, and interrupted the coronation of Aegon before flying away from Kings Landing. The trailer for House of the Dragon episode 10 promises that the next episode picks up directly after this, with Rhaenys in Dragonstone, the seat of House Targaryen, warning Rhaenyra and Daemon of the greens usurping of the throne. The trailer shows Rhaenys alerting the duo to the greens' plans to kill Rhaenyra and her children along with any supporters of her claim.

The Blacks Prepare For Civil War

Preparations are shown for the defense of Rhaenyra, her children, and her claim to the Iron Throne. A voiceover from Daemon can be heard exclaiming that Rhaenyra cannot bend the knee to the Hightowers and that they stole her birthright. This is followed by Rhaenys stating that the men surrounding the Painted Table in Dragonstone are telling Rhaenyra to go to war against the greens, with some of her council telling her to lay siege to the Red Keep in Kings Landing in House of the Dragon episode 10. This is accompanied by shots of swords and other weapons being stockpiled, truly proving that the blacks are preparing for what will become the war known as the Dance of Dragons.

Aemond Removes His Eyepatch (Why?)

Aemond Removes Eyepatch House of the Dragon

One shot in the House of the Dragon episode 10 trailer shows Aemond Targaryen, the second son of Alicent and Viserys, removing his eye patch, which he has not been seen without since losing his eye in episode 7. This is a hint to a huge story element from Fire & Blood that other shots from the trailer also hint toward. Aemond is likely at Storm's End when he removes his eye patch. In Fire & Blood, both he and Lucerys Velaryon, on behalf of the greens and blacks, respectively, are sent to Storm's End to acquire the support of House Baratheon. House of the Dragon episode 10 is likely to depict this, with Aemond removing his eye patch to show Lucerys what he did. The two still have bad blood between them, as evident by House of the Dragon episode 8, proving that Aemond will likely want to show Lucerys the consequences of their childhood feud.

What Jacaerys & Lucerys Are Planning To Do

Velaryon Children House of the Dragon

Another shot setting up the confrontation between Aemond and Lucerys shows the four Velaryon children, with Jacaerys simply stating, "Send us," to Rhaenyra. This is a hint at the Velaryon boys' roles during the Dance of Dragons. In Fire & Blood, after making the boys swear that they will take no part in the fighting, Rhaenyra allows the two to act as envoys for the blacks, traveling around Westeros to secure support for House Targaryen, specifically Rhaenyra's cause. This is what Jacaerys's line in the House of the Dragon episode 10 trailer refers to and what leads Lucerys to be sent to Storm's End along with Aemond for the greens.

Ser Erryk Cargyll Swears Fealty To Rhaenyra (With Viserys' Crown)

Arryk Cargyll House of the Dragon

One of the events that the trailer for House of the Dragon episode 10 shows was foreshadowed in House of the Dragon episode 9. One of the plot lines of the latter was the twin Kingsguard knights Arryk and Erryk Cargyll being sent to find Aegon so that he could be crowned king. During their search, the two recognize the cruelty of Aegon Targaryen after visiting places he was known to frequent. However, Arryk insisted on doing his duty to the king, going as far as to fight Criston Cole to take Aegon to Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King. Erryk, on the other hand, left Aegon and instead helped Rhaenys escape the Red Keep. House of the Dragon episode 10 looks to build on this, showing Erryk swearing fealty to Rhaenyra on Dragonstone, with Viserys's crown in hand. This shows that he views Rhaenyra as the true heir and is going against the greens for the Dance of Dragons and against his twin brother in the process.

Lucerys & Arrax Fly To Storm's End

Lucerys Velaryon and Arrax

One of the shots from House of the Dragon episode 10's trailer shows Lucerys fulfilling his role as one of Rhaenyra's envoys. The young Velaryon, atop his dragon Arrax, is seen flying through a stormy sky. In Fire & Blood, Lucerys's visit to Storm's End to acquire Borros Baratheon's aid was described to take place during an unrelenting storm. This proves that House of the Dragon will feature this visit and the cold reunion of Lucerys and Aemond Targaryen. The trip was bestowed upon Lucerys as it was expected by Rhaenyra to be the least dangerous envoy mission, though neither she nor Lucerys accounted for Aemond's visit to the seat of House Baratheon.

Who Is The Dragon That Daemon Is Singing To

Daemon and Vermithor House of the Dragon

The trailer for House of the Dragon episode 10 also features the blacks preparing for war in another way, by acquiring more dragons. One of Rhaenyra's biggest worries at the onset of the Dance of Dragons, according to Fire & Blood, is the blacks' lack of dragonriders on their side, especially with Vhagar being on the side of the greens. House of the Dragon's season 1 finale seems like it will address this, with the trailer showing Daemon attempting to calm a dragon that could potentially be ridden by someone on the blacks side. This dragon is Vermithor, nicknamed the Bronze Fury. Vermithor is, at the time of House of the Dragon, the second-largest dragon in Westeros with only Vhagar being larger. Vermithor was ridden by King Jaehaerys during his reign before being left riderless after his death. Vermithor then fled to Dragonstone where he lived alone. House of the Dragon episode 10 promises Daemon attempting to win Vermithor's favor as a potential weapon in the war to come.

The Dance Of The Dragons Is Truly Beginning

Painted Table Dragonstone

One thing the House of the Dragon episode 10 trailer promises as a whole is the true beginning of the Dance of Dragons, which will engulf Westeros in the flames of war. From the onset of House of the Dragon, it has been common knowledge that the show is building up to the war between the greens and the blacks for the Iron Throne. From the promise of the blacks' retaliation against Aegon's crowning to the hints of both sides acquiring the support of the families of Westeros, it is clear that the Targaryen civil war called the Dance of Dragons is finally coming, and will be shown to begin in House of the Dragon episode 10.

Daemon & Otto's Dragonstone Confrontation

Daemon Otto Dragonstone

One shot from the trailer for House of the Dragon episode 10 is a callback to an earlier episode of the show, involving Daemon Targaryen and Otto Hightower. In House of the Dragon episode 2, Daemon attempted to marry Mysaria on Dragonstone and stole a dragon egg, causing Otto to take some men to procure the egg. This led to a brief standoff on the steps of Dragonstone, which Rhaenyra defused without bloodshed. House of the Dragon episode 10 promises a round two, with one shot showing an almost identical confrontation on the steps of Dragonstone between Daemon and Otto, whose hatred for each other has been seeded since episode 1. However, unlike House of the Dragon episode 2, this confrontation may end in a bloodier fashion than the first, with the threat of war looming overhead.

Vhagar & Aemond Change Westeros' Future

Vhagar-House-of-the-Dragon-2

The final shot of House of the Dragon episode 10's trailer promises to alter the course of Westeros forever and stoke the flames of war into an all-out conflict. This shot is of Vhagar, Aemond's dragon, and is linked to their visit to Storm's End and confrontation with Lucerys. If the season 1 finale does indeed allow the visit of Storm's End to play out in its entirety, this shot of Vhagar, in full attack mode, spells dark things on the horizon for Lucerys Velaryon. In Fire & Blood, the visit to Storm's End escalates into Aemond and Vhagar chasing Lucerys and Arrax, with the one-eyed prince taking his longstanding revenge against his nephew and killing both targets. This causes Rhaenyra and Daemon to take revenge on one of Aegon's children, which truly begins the Dance of Dragons, which House of the Dragon's future seasons will focus on in its entirety.
