House of the Dragon episode 4 images reveal a tender reunion between Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen. After much anticipation, House of the Dragon premiered late last month on HBO and introduced audiences to a slew of new players vying for control of the Iron Throne about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. Other than King Viserys Targaryen, there is his younger brother, Prince Daemon (played by Doctor Who's Matt Smith), and his firstborn child, Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock).
House of the Dragon begins during a time of uncertainty regarding King Viserys' succession. After failing to secure a male heir in the first episode, the King must choose between Rhaenyra and the hot-headed Daemon, the latter of which just led the Goldcloaks on a violent rampage throughout the city and joked about his stillborn son, Baelon, calling him "heir for a day." By the end of House of the Dragon episode 1, Viserys decides to banish Daemon back to Runestone and break custom by naming Rhaenyra as his heir. The Prince and Princess cross paths again in episode 2, but that is the last time they see each other for years.
Now, it appears Daemon and Rhaenyra will reunite in King's Landing during House of the Dragon episode 4. Shared by Watchers on the Wall, new images show Daemon returning to court with a crown on his head after his victory in the Stepstones deemed him the King of the Narrow Sea, which was already revealed by the episode 4 trailer. However, this batch of images includes a new look at Daemon and Rhaenyra's tender reunion in the Red Keep's Godswood. Check out the images below:
During the House of the Dragon series premiere, Daemon and Rhaenyra were shown to have a special bond, but as soon as the Princess superseded the Prince as the King's heir apparent, a rivalry began to brew between the two. However, after various time jumps, that was over three years ago, and in the upcoming fourth episode, it appears their relationship will be on the mend. In the image above, Daemon can be seen clutching the Valyrian steel necklace he gifted Rhaenyra during House of the Dragon episode 1.
Other than Daemon and Rhaenyra's highly anticipated reunion, the House of the Dragon episode 4 images also reveal a look at Rhaenyra and Queen Alicent together. Sadly, the childhood friends' relationship likely won't be mended after the latter married the former's father. The final photo from the upcoming episode, which shows Rhaenyra alongside Lord Boremund Baratheon, appears to reveal the first look at the House's ancestral seat, Storm's End, which was mentioned many times but never actually glimpsed in Game of Thrones. Based on these new images, House of the Dragon fans have plenty to look forward to in episode 4.
